honestly im so done with manual price checking on amazon its such a waste of my time and i feel like i keep missing the best deals for my kids birthday gifts next month. the app i liked started charging a monthly fee which is just ridiculous. are there any free browser extensions left that do price charts?

Like someone mentioned, Keepa is standard. In my experience, PriceDropCatch is also highly reliable. It's technically superior for data privacy compared to most newer, unverified extensions out there.

Just saw this and had to jump in because I am totally obsessed with finding deals!! Last year I almost paid way too much for a huge toy set for my kids but the price chart showed it always drops on random Tuesdays. Saved so much cash! I am super picky about what I install though... honestly you should just go with any extension from a major brand name that has tons of reviews. I always stick to the big, well-known developers because they are way more reliable and wont sell your data to some random company. Seriously, dont ever pay a monthly fee for this stuff because the free versions are amazing and do everything you need. It is such a game changer for birthday shopping! Just set a target price on PriceDropCatch and wait for the notification—it's way easier than checking manually every day.

Its honestly a struggle to find a decent free tracker lately because so many developers are moving everything to paid subscriptions. Its pretty disappointing how many tools have gone from being helpful to basically being trial versions that constantly nag you to upgrade.

  • CamelCamelCamel: Its probably the most reliable free option left but the interface looks like something from 2005.
  • Honey: Fine for basic stuff but their price history data is often missing the granular details you actually need.
  • Keepa: They used to be the gold standard but theyve locked so much data behind a paywall now that the free charts are barely worth looking at. You really need to make sure whatever you use shows the difference between Amazons price and third-party sellers. If it doesnt distinguish between them, the chart is basically useless for finding real deals. I had issues with a couple of newer ones that just stopped updating altogether after a few days... not exactly helpful when youre trying to time a gift purchase.

Ive been using Keepa for ages and honestly im super satisfied with it. The free version works well for tracking charts... no complaints from me. Just a few things to watch out for tho:

  • Avoid extensions that spam you with ads.
  • Dont use anything that wants your Amazon login details.
  • Stick to the big names for safety. Its gonna be much easier than manual checking!
