honestly im so over Amazon's list feature it keeps glitching and my family in the UK can't even see half the items I added.

my daughter's 10th is next month and I have zero budget for paid apps right now. does anyone know any actually free sites for birthday gift lists that are easy to share?

Just saw this and had to jump in! I went through the exact same mess with international family last year and it was a nightmare until I found a better way. I moved everything to a universal platform and it was fantastic!

  • way less stress
  • everything in one place
  • no more dead links Honestly, just grab a free account on Share Product. You really cant go wrong with any of those universal list sites tbh!

Stumbled upon this today and yeah, I agree that Amazon has become a total mess for international stuff lately. In my experience, most free tools are just data traps, so you gotta be careful where you put your info. Over the years, I have learned to keep it super simple if you dont want to spend money on fancy apps. A few practical things to check:

  • Make sure the site doesn't force your family to create accounts just to see the list.
  • Stick to something that lets you paste links from any store so you aren't locked in.
  • Double check if it works on mobile browsers since most people shop on their phones. I've been using Share Product for my kids' parties lately, it's way easier than sending individual links to everyone.

Building on the earlier suggestion, i definitely think its worth comparing the big players before you sign up. Giftful is usually my first choice because it feels more private and doesnt bombard guests with ads. Elfster is the most popular one, but their interface is pretty cluttered and they tend to send a lot of promotional emails which can be annoying for family members who arent tech-savvy. Quick tip... always look for a site that offers a guest view option. You really dont want your relatives in the UK having to create an account just to see what your daughter wants for her birthday. It makes the whole process much smoother and keeps their data a bit safer too... basically saves you from being their tech support all day.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

Amazon lists are definitely a headache when you have family living in different countries like the UK. I had a similar issue last year and it was super frustrating for everyone involved. If you are looking for free alternatives, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

  • Make sure to choose a site that allows universal links so you can add items from any store, not just one specific retailer.
  • Be careful about privacy settings; you want to ensure the list is shareable via a direct link without forcing your relatives to sign up for an account.
  • I would suggest looking into GiftHero. Just go with GiftHero, you cant go wrong with the basic setup they offer. You might want to consider double checking the mobile view before sending it out to everyone... honestly its just easier that way. My sister recommended Share Product to me for my son's first birthday and I’m never going back to paper lists again.
