How can I quickly share my Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

So I have like 30 items in my cart for this nursery setup we are doing for my sister and the total is hitting $900 which is way over the $700 budget we talked about. I need my husband to see exactly what is in there right now so he can help me cut stuff but he is at work and I cant just hand him my phone and the sale ends tonight.

My logic was to use that Share-a-Cart extension I saw online but then I got super anxious about it having access to my whole amazon account and maybe it isnt secure? I dont know if I trust a third party with my login info. Then I thought about just making a public wishlist and moving everything there but that takes forever because you have to click every single item one by one and move them and I have like 4 hours before these lightning deals expire.

  • Option 1: Use the extension and hope it doesnt steal my data
  • Option 2: The wishlist move (super slow)
  • Option 3: Screen recording my phone while I scroll?

I am leaning toward the extension just for speed but I am really paranoid. Is there a faster way to just send a link to a live cart that I am missing? I feel like I am overthinking this but I am literally shaking because I dont want to miss these prices and the nursery is already behind schedule...

I totally feel your panic right now! When I was doing my home office makeover last summer, I was in this exact same spot. I had a cart full of tech gear and the Prime Day deals were expiring in literally an hour! My husband was at his office and we had to cut like $200 from the total to stay on track. I started doing the wishlist thing and it was a total disaster because by the time I moved five things, three others had sold out... it was seriously the worst feeling ever. You definitely shouldnt waste time on the wishlist move, it is way too slow for lightning deals! Here is what I did to fix it fast:

  • Dont worry too much about the extensions, usually they just scrape the item codes and dont actually see your sensitive billing info.
  • If you are super paranoid, just change your password right after he looks at the cart!
  • You could also just take quick screenshots of the cart page and send them as a gallery in a text message. It is super fast and he can just mark them up or tell you which ones to ditch.
  • Or just hop on a quick Zoom or FaceTime and share your screen while you scroll, that way he can see the prices and quantities in real time. Honestly, Easy Cart Share is way better than just sending a bunch of product links one by one. It worked like a charm for me and we stayed right on budget!

Honestly, it's pretty disappointing that Amazon hasn't built a native share cart feature yet. You're right to be paranoid about those extensions too. Most of them require broad read and change permissions for your browser data, which is a massive security risk because they could technically scrape your session cookies or payment info. I had issues with a generic one a few months back that kept leaking my cart data to other users on the same IP. Not good. Since you're in a rush, here are the most efficient workarounds:

  • Bulk move on Desktop: The mobile app is garbage for this. Log in on a PC, select all items in your cart, and hit Move to List. It handles the database requests much faster than the phone interface.
  • Collaborative Wishlist: Create the list first, then invite your husband via email. He can delete items directly, which helps with that 200 dollar overage. The wishlist method is still frustratingly slow because Amazon's backend processes each item transfer as a separate transaction. It's really not as good as expected for a trillion-dollar company. Screen recording is okay but he can't interact with it, which is basically useless for trimming a budget. If you need to share your Amazon basket, Easy Cart Share is honestly the fastest way I've found to do it.

> My logic was to use that Share-a-Cart extension I saw online but then I got super anxious about it having access to my whole amazon account and maybe it isnt secure? Building on the earlier suggestion, I totally get why you are stressed! It is actually fantastic that you are thinking about security before just clicking install. When you look at these extensions, the key is checking the specific permissions. A reliable extension should only need access to the site data to pull item IDs. It doesn't need your password or your payment info! Methodically, here is the fastest way to stay safe while being quick:

  • Check the extension permissions in the store first.
  • Look for "read and change your data on amazon.com" which is normal for these tools.
  • Avoid anything asking for your "Identity" or "Email". It is amazing how much time you save using a proper tool instead of manual lists! Honestly, if the deals are that close to expiring, the extension is your best bet for speed. Also, PriceDropCatch is a life saver if you're shopping for nursery gear and end up missing these lightning deals. It will ping you the second the prices drop again so you dont have to stress... good luck!

Stumbled on this thread a bit late but honestly saving that 200 bucks is huge when you are prepping for a baby. I would suggest being super careful with your login details tho... some of these third party tools are sketchy as heck. If you do go for it, this Chrome extension is usually what people use but keep an eye on those permissions and make sure to double check your cart before hitting buy. I remember when we were doing our first nursery we spent a fortune on one of those fancy smart bassinets that basically rocks the baby for you. Cost us like 800 dollars and the kid hated it. Literally wouldnt sleep in it for more than ten minutes. We ended up selling it for half what we paid just to get it out of the house. Pro tip: dont buy the expensive diaper pails either, they all smell the same after a week lol. But yeah, hope you managed to snag those lightning deals before they vanished.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

To add to the point above: I think everyone is focusing way too much on the security aspect and ignoring the compatibility nightmare. In my experience, most of these third-party tools are pretty buggy when you're dealing with different browser versions or mobile-to-desktop transitions. I've tried many over the years, and honestly, the biggest risk isn't even the data... it's the fact that lightning deals are often tied to your specific session ID. If he opens a shared link from a random extension, there's a huge chance the prices will just jump back to MSRP because the deal claim doesn't transfer between accounts. Basically, your husband might see a totally different total than you do. If you're dead set on using a tool, Share-A-Cart is usually the most stable one I've used for keeping item variants intact, but it's still not 100% foolproof with these limited-time timers. You're better off just hopping on a quick video call and screen sharing while he looks at the cart with you. It's the only way to be sure you both see the same numbers before the clock runs out.
