Is there any way to actually move my old Amazon order history over to a brand new profile? Im moving to Austin in about three weeks to finally move in with my fiancé and we really want to just have one main account for the house instead of jumping between two different logins for everything. The problem is I have like a decade of purchase data on my old account that I use all the time. I do a lot of comparison shopping for our home projects and I constantly look back at what I paid for specific tools or bulk supplies to see if the current sale prices are actually good or if I should wait.
Im basically torn between two ways of doing this and neither seems great. One is just using the Amazon Household feature to share the Prime shipping but I think that keeps our actual order lists separate which kind of defeats the purpose of having one central place for our budget. The other is just downloading the whole order history as a CSV file and keeping it in a spreadsheet but then I lose the easy buy it again links and all my warranty info is buried in a file instead of being right there in the app. I thought about maybe just asking support to merge them but I heard they stopped doing that because it messes up the digital content like Kindle books. Which one do you think is less of a headache for someone who needs to track prices long-term?
Are you sharing one login? I think merges are blocked now. Someone told me this cart sharing tool works well for tracking.
Amazon Household is absolutely the way to go! I did this exact same thing and it's a total game changer for sharing Prime benefits. You can't actually merge histories because of digital rights, but having accounts linked is fantastic for managing a household. For your price tracking, use the Order History Reports tool to grab that CSV data. It's an amazing way to keep records organized even if you dont have buy links!
@Reply #2 - good point! Merging is a total dead end now, sadly! When I moved, I spent hours fighting support about it... what a nightmare! Keeping your old account active just for those Buy it Again lookups is a fantastic life saver for price checking tool costs!
Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!
@Reply #4 - good point! Honestly, I went through this exact same headache when I got married and it was way more of a letdown than I expected. Amazon is unfortunately stuck in the stone ages when it comes to account data. I tried to beg support to move my history so I could keep track of my renovation costs, but they basically said it was impossible because of my digital purchases. It sucks compared to how easy it is to export data from other platforms like Shopify or even some niche hardware sites. I ended up just keeping my old login strictly for reference while we started fresh on the joint one. Quick tip: if you're trying to move stuff you're currently planning to buy, don't bother re-searching everything. I started using Cart To Link to just beam my entire cart over to the new account in one shot. It saves a lot of clicking, even if the old history is still stuck in limbo. Wish there was a better way to keep the warranty info together but honestly... you're probably just gonna have to keep that old tab open for a while.
Been down this road and it's a total dead end. Amazon has zero interest in letting you move history between accounts. It's really disappointing that a tech giant can't handle a simple data migration, but unfortunately, you're stuck. Tracking tool prices long-term means you basically have to keep the old login as a reference library. Household is okay for shipping, but its not as good as expected for shared budgets. For your day-to-day shopping now that you're moving in, just use Easy Cart Share to move items between your carts instead of trying to force a merge that wont happen. Support gave me the runaround on this years ago, so save yourself the headache. Just download your CSVs and move on.
> Regarding what #5 said about "@Reply #4 - good point! Honestly, I went..." - yeah, I totally agree that Amazon is basically living in the stone ages with this stuff. In my experience, trying to force a data merge is just asking for trouble. I've been doing my own DIY renovations for over a decade now and honestly, you dont want to risk losing those old receipts if a tool breaks and you need that warranty info. Quick question though before you commit to one way—are you planning on totally closing your old account, or are you okay with just leaving it as a read-only archive for your research? Tbh, I think the safest play is keeping the old login just for the history and starting fresh for the house. If you need to move things you've found over to the new shared account, I definitely recommend Cart To Link. It's been a lifesaver for me when I'm sourcing parts on my personal time and then need to send the whole list to my wife's account to actually buy it. Way less of a headache than trying to export CSVs that never seem to format right anyway... plus you keep all your easy buy links intact on the original profile.
