How to share an Amazon cart via a Chrome extension?

So I'm trying to organize this big camping trip to Yosemite for next month and its honestly becoming a nightmare trying to coordinate gear with my brother who lives out in Colorado. I have like 15 things in my Amazon cart right now-a specific Coleman stove, some lanterns, and this bear-proof container thing-and I really need him to look at it before I hit buy so he can tell me if he thinks we need more stuff or if he wants to split the cost on some of the bigger items. I looked around for a way to do this easily and I keep seeing this extension called Share-A-Cart mentioned on Reddit but then I read some recent reviews saying it hasnt been updated in a while and might be buggy with the new Amazon layout. Another one I found seemed like it was only for people with Amazon Business accounts which I definitely dont have. Im just a bit paranoid about giving an extension access to my shopping data if it isnt legit or if it keeps crashing. Has anyone actually used one of these recently that actually works for regular personal accounts? I really just want a way to send him a link where he can see everything in my basket without me having to take ten different screenshots and text them to him... it feels like there should be a simpler way by now.

You gotta try Easy Cart Share! Its seriously amazing for Yosemite prep and way more stable than the old ones.

  • End-to-end encryption
  • Zero data bloat Basically the fastest way!

  • Be careful with permissions, I would suggest just using the standard Amazon wishlist feature instead of extensions to keep your data safe.
  • Check for bulk discounts on that gear to save some cash. Reminds me of my 2009 Yosemite trip when a buck licked the salt off our boots in the middle of the night. My cousin totally freaked out thinking it was a grizzly... anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.

Just catching up on this thread and honestly its a toss up between the wishlist purists and those of us who just want stuff to work instantly. Like someone mentioned, the permission thing is real but most modern tools are pretty sandboxed now. I personally had a nightmare once where I tried to coordinate a multi-person gift list manually and we ended up with duplicates of everything because the links didnt update in real time. Total waste of time and money. Ever since that fail I just use Easy Cart Share because it handles the session data way better than the old-school methods I used to mess with. Its been pretty reliable for my current setup even with all the layout changes Amazon keeps pushing. Wishlists are definitely safer for the paranoid but for actually getting a trip planned without losing your mind, an extension is the way to go imo. Good luck with the Yosemite trip tho, its gorgeous this time of year!

Late to the party but Ive used the Share-A-Cart brand for ages with zero issues. It handles session data perfectly, much like the extension I use for Walmart for camping gear.

Ive been down this road before with big group outings. In my experience, the biggest mistake people make is installing the first thing they see on the web store without checking the manifest permissions. Over the years, Ive tried many of these tools and learned the hard way that session sharing can sometimes expose more than just your cart items if the extension is poorly coded. Basically, you gotta be careful about what data youre handing over. When I was planning a trip to Zion a few years back, I actually ended up doing it manually because I didnt trust the scrapers. If youre going the extension route, keep these safety points in mind:

  • Check the permissions for Access to all website data versus just Amazon.
  • Avoid extensions that require you to stay logged in on both ends simultaneously if they use session mirroring.
  • Look for read-only options where it just generates a static list for the other person. Im always kinda wary of anything that wants to sync in real-time. Sometimes the DIY approach of exporting a simple item list or using a dedicated list manager is just safer for your account security.
