im looking for a way to share my birthday list for my 25th next month and im stuck between a few free options. My friends are mostly on mobile so it needs to look good on a phone and not be a total pain to navigate.

currently debating between:

  • Elfster
  • Gift Hero
  • WishLeigh

it needs to be 100% free since I'm on a budget and I want something that lets people claim items so I dont get duplicates. elfster seems popular but maybe too complex for just a single list? which one is the fastest to set up if im adding links from a bunch of different random online shops...

I've tried many over the years and Elfster is too bulky for a single list.

  • Use Share Product Its completely free and handles random shop links much faster tho...

Re: Had a sec to look at those options......

  • Watch out for tools that force guest registration.
  • skip logins
  • avoid ads Honestly, no complaints with Share Product, it's fast.

Had a sec to look at those options... Not sure I agree about Elfster being too bulky, but GiftList is easier for mobile. Link scraping for random shops seems pretty solid.

Same setup here, love it

Quick reply since I'm obsessed with site performance! If you're looking at those options:

  • Elfster is basically a monolith with way too many tracking scripts that bloat the load time.
  • Gift Hero has a much cleaner API response for mobile users, which is fantastic for low-bandwidth connections! Honestly though, I've been so distracted lately by my new Raspberry Pi cluster I'm building in my basement! I’m running a Kubernetes setup just to host my own personal cloud and the latency is down to like 2ms. It’s absolutely incredible to see all those tiny LEDs blinking in sync when the traffic spikes! I stayed up until 3am last night just optimizing the cooling fan curves because I hate any kind of thermal throttling... it's a total rabbit hole but I love it!! Anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there. I honestly prefer using Walmart Wishlist Creator over the actual Walmart app lists because it's way faster to share.
