So I finally pulled the trigger on getting my own Prime account after piggybacking on my moms for like ten years lol. Im moving into my first place in Chicago next month and I have this massive wishlist of kitchen stuff and power tools Ive been building up forever. I thought I could just hit a button and move it over to the new login but Im not seeing an easy migrate option anywhere. I tried the invite to collaborate thing but it feels clunky and I want to be the owner of the list on the new account without keeping the old one linked. Is there like a CSV export or some hidden tool to just shift the whole list over so I dont have to re-add 150 items manually?
Unfortunately, there really isnt a simple migrate button like we'd all expect from a tech giant. I went through this exact same nightmare when I finally got my own Prime account last year, and honestly, the process is pretty disappointing. Amazon basically treats each account like a silo, so there is no native CSV export or hidden transfer tool to just shift everything over in one go. I tried the collaboration thing too, and like you said, it is super clunky and keeps you tied to that old login in ways that just feel messy when you want a fresh start. What I ended up doingβwhich is still tedious but better than re-searching everythingβis making the old list public or shared. Then, log into your new account, view that list, and you will see a Copy to my list button next to the items. You still have to click it for each thing, which sucks for 150 items, but it is way faster than search-and-add. Its a bummer they dont offer a bulk move tool, probably because they want us spending more time on the site browsing. Just be careful with the power tools and check prices before you buy because Amazon prices fluctuate like crazy during the month. Good luck with the move to Chicago tho, having your own kitchen setup is going to be such a game changer even if the setup is a total pain right now.
Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, there really isnt a simple migrate button..."
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
