How can I monitor Etsy listing prices for free without manually checking?

Honestly I am so tired of having forty tabs open on my phone just to see if this one vintage brass lamp I want has gone on sale yet. I have been checking like five times a day for two weeks and it is driving me actually insane. My budget is strictly $60 because shipping to Ohio is already a nightmare and the seller keeps bumping the price up and down by like ten bucks every other day and I always seem to miss the low point by like an hour. Its for my sisters new apartment and her housewarming is in three weeks so I dont have forever to wait around and the anxiety of missing the deal is legit keeping me up at night. I tried looking for some kind of app or browser extension but everything I find is either for Amazon or it costs a monthly subscription which literally defeats the whole point of trying to save money on the item lol. I just want something simple that pings me when the price drops without me having to refresh the page manually while I am at work. Is there actually a free way to do this or am I just stuck being a slave to the refresh button forever?

Ugh, I totally feel your pain with those price fluctuations. Unfortunately, Etsy doesnt make it easy for us and most free tools have been kind of a letdown lately. I had issues with a few browser extensions that just stopped working once the site updated its layout... it was honestly so frustrating to miss out on a find because the tech failed. If you want to stop the manual refreshing, here is what I usually do:

  • Try Visualping. You can set a free alert to monitor the price text on the page, though the free version is a bit slow.
  • Favorite the item and enable email notifications; sometimes Etsy pings you when a shop runs a sale. Its not as good as expected, but it beats staring at your phone all day. Really hope you snag that lamp for your sister soon, sounds like a great gift!

I would suggest considering Visualping for monitoring. Make sure to check the free limits carefully so you dont exceed them, as staying within your budget is really the main goal here.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
