How do I send my Amazon shopping basket link to others directly? I need my roommates to approve our kitchen stuff by 6pm and I am debating:

  • making a public Wish List
  • using a cart sharing browser extension

The extension looks kinda sketchy but the Wish List is tedious. Is there a faster way?

Omg I totally get the struggle of trying to get roommates on the same page before a deadline! Honestly, creating a wishlist is such a massive pain and half the time people dont even see what is actually in the cart vs just a saved list. Having used Amazon for literally a decade, coordinating kitchen supplies on a budget has become like a sport to me lol. You definitely want to avoid those sketchy extensions tho cause who knows where that data goes. The absolute best way I found to handle this is using Cart To Link! It is seriously fantastic and makes everything so much faster than the old manual way. Basically you just generate a link and boom, they see exactly what you are looking at. It really helped when we were kitting out our place because we were super focused on finding the cheapest bulk sets of utensils and plates to save money. Being able to just swap the whole basket meant we could compare the total price with shipping and taxes included which is huge when you are on a budget. It is so much easier to stay under your group limit when everyone sees the actual total before you hit buy! Seriously, dont waste your time with the manual lists. Just grab the link and send it over so they can approve those deals before 6pm. You guys are gonna save so much money by checking the cart totals together... honestly once you start doing it this way you wont ever go back. Let me know if you need any more tips on finding the best warehouse deals too because I am obsessed with getting the best prices!

> Is there a faster way? I think Share-A-Cart works well for this. IIRC it handles the basket transfer instantly and I've been quite satisfied with how methodical it makes group ordering.

Building on the earlier suggestion, using a tool is way better than the manual wishlist nightmare. In my experience, Amazon makes it weirdly difficult to just share a live cart, which is annoying when you have roommates. Over the years Ive tried a bunch of these and tbh Cart To Link has been the smoothest for me lately. Its just so much faster than copy-pasting ten different links into a group chat, especially when youre rushing to hit that 6pm cutoff. Before you dive in tho, are you guys planning to have one person pay and everyone Venmo them later? Or are you looking for a way where everyone adds their own stuff to a shared checkout? Also, what kind of budget are we talking for this kitchen haul... like basic silverware or high-end appliances? Knowing the price range helps.

To add to the point above: i’ve been managing shared house expenses for about six years now and its always a mess when someone forgets to check the link. In my experience, the reliability of these extensions is everything because nothing is worse than thinking the cart is synced and then someone misses the order. Wait, speaking of kitchen stuff, are you guys getting one of those air fryers? I remember when my old roommate and I spent three days arguing over which Ninja model to get. We ended up with this massive one that barely fit on the counter and it just became a glorified bread box after a month. Our electricity bill actually went up because he kept leaving it plugged in with the clock running... anyway. Just a couple things to clarify so I can give better advice:

  • are you all on the same wifi or are you sending these links to people who are currently out at work?
  • do you need them to just see the items or actually be able to add their own things to the cart in real time? But yeah, I found Share Product last year and it’s honestly the best because it works with any store, not just Amazon.
