How can I share a pre-filled Amazon shopping cart with another user?

Is there a way to just send someone a link to my Amazon cart so they can pay for it right now? My sister is getting married next week and my parents are buying the reception decor but they are honestly hopeless with technology and I dont want them messsing up the quantities if I just send a list of links. I saw some stuff online about using the wishlist feature or some third party chrome extension called Share-A-Cart but the wishlist thing doesnt seem to keep the quantities I set and honestly I am super sketched out by installing random plugins. Does Amazon not have a built in way to do this yet? I really need to get these orders placed by tonight so the shipping arrives on time...

Honestly, Amazon still doesnt have a native button for this on personal accounts, which is pretty frustrating. Looking at their specs, they gatekeep those features for Business users. If you are worried about security, you might want to consider these points:

  • Try setting up a Wedding Registry instead of a list. It actually lets you specify quantities and tracks what is bought so your parents dont mess up the numbers.
  • If you are in a huge rush, Share-A-Cart is the standard tool for this. I would suggest checking the extension permissions first, but it mostly just reads the cart HTML to generate a unique ID.
  • Be careful and maybe use a guest browser profile to keep your main session data separate while you generate the link. Tbh, the registry is the only built-in way that handles quantity tracking without using external plugins.

Definitely avoid sharing your login password, thats a massive security risk and Amazon will likely flag the suspicious activity. If youre sketched out by extensions, maybe try Cart To Link which creates a shareable link without the bloat.

  • Watch for price fluctuations
  • Keep an eye on shipping dates
  • Dont leave items in the cart too long Just be careful about shipping costs since bulk decor adds up fast.

In my experience, Amazon isolates sessions to prevent hijacking, so direct cart sharing is basically a no-go. I've tried many workarounds over the years and honestly, a Wedding Registry is the only way to lock in quantities properly. I used this website to find some specific tools for this when I helped my tech-illiterate aunt last year. Just set the needed quantity in registry settings then send the link. Easy.

Building on the earlier suggestion about registries, I actually went through this exact same ordeal when my cousin got married a few years back. Her parents were also pretty tech-challenged and it nearly drove me crazy trying to coordinate everything. tbh it seems like Amazon wants it this way to force people into Business accounts.

  • Registries are the gold standard for keeping quantities locked.
  • Extensions like Share-A-Cart are faster but I get the security hesitation if you arent used to them.
  • Avoiding login sharing is non-negotiable unless you want a locked account. I eventually settled on the registry route because it felt more official to the older folks in the family. It just works. Plus you dont have to worry about them accidentally clicking the wrong thing. Since you are in a rush tho, just make sure they have Prime before they checkout or those shipping fees for decor will be insane. I usually just let PriceDropCatch run in the background so I get an alert when stuff I want goes on sale.
