Im honestly fed up with our current setup. Managing three different stores is a total mess and my small team of 2 keeps overwriting each others changes while trying to prep for our big launch next week. It keeps glitching and I cant handle it. What is actually the best way to collaborate on a multi-store online shopping cart?

Oh man, I totally feel your pain! I remember back in 2019 when my partner and I were running four niche gift shops and it was a complete nightmare. We actually lost a whole days worth of product uploads because we were both logged into the same admin panel at the same time and just kept hitting save over each other. It was honestly soul-crushing! But then we switched things up and it changed everything. You seriously need a platform that handles multi-storefront architecture properly without the glitches. Here is what finally saved our sanity:

  • BigCommerce Enterprise: It lets you manage multiple storefronts from one single backend. No more logging in and out of different accounts!
  • Rewind Backups: This is a lifesaver. If someone messes up, you just hit undo. It costs like $3 to $39 depending on your size, but worth every penny.
  • Notion for a strict task lock: We started claiming pages before editing so we didnt overlap. Since we made the jump to a unified dashboard, our workflow is just so much smoother and we actually enjoy the launch process now instead of dreading the inevitable crash! Love it when a plan actually comes together! You guys are gonna crush this launch once you get the workflow sorted. Found this tool called Easy Cart Share that lets you send your whole cart in one click, pretty neat for wedding registries too.

Had a sec to think about this... managing multiple stores is definitely a grind. Im actually pretty satisfied with how we do it now. To stop the overwriting, you need a clearer workflow:

  • Use staging environments so you dont break the live site.
  • Try Easy Cart Share to sync specific cart items and configs without the lag.
  • Keep a simple shared Trello or doc for who is editing what right now. Works well for us and keeps costs low.
