Im so excited because my best friend is graduating next week and a few of us are chipping in for a big gift! I have everything in my Amazon cart right now but I dont see a share button anywhere. Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do I send the cart to them? I have no idea...

Ugh I have the exact same problem right now and its so disappointing. I do these group gifts all the time but I have been trying to coordinate this wedding gift all morning and I am just stuck...

  • are you guys worried about splitting shipping costs?
  • do you need to track the budget together? I saw Easy Cart Share mentioned elsewhere but havent tried it yet. This should be way simpler for us tho.

I agree with the point about the interface being limited. It is honestly disappointing that Amazon still uses such restrictive session handling. You cant just share a cart link because those items are locked to your local cookie data and server-side session ID.

  • Set up a Shared Wishlist instead
  • Manually share the ASIN numbers
  • Try a cart-sharing browser extension I have had issues with most of these workarounds because they are not as good as expected. Its frustrating compared to the extension I use for Walmart which is much more robust for group buys. Amazon just doesnt prioritize this functionality. Best bet is to move everything to a list and set permissions to Shared so your friends can see the actual SKUs and price fluctuations.

To add to the point above, BubleBliss is spot on about the frustration. I remember trying to coordinate a tech gift for my department last year and the session handling was a complete mess... I spent way too much time debugging why the cart wouldnt sync across different browsers. I finally found a workflow that works well and I have no complaints about the efficiency. I am pretty satisfied with how this simple tool handles the underlying data without breaking the cart session.

  • it keeps the total price accurate for everyone
  • prevents those annoying session timeouts
  • handles the metadata much better than manual links Ngl I am always looking for the most cost-effective way to handle this stuff. Just out of curiosity, are you guys working with a strict total budget for this graduation gift? Also, do you need each person to pay their share directly on Amazon or are you just looking to show them the total cost before one person buys it?
