Does anyone know a way to share my actual Amazon shopping cart with my husband without just handing him my phone? We are currently trying to budget for our nursery—baby is coming in less than three months—and I have about 25 items sitting in my cart that I need him to look over.
I am stuck between a few options here. I looked into the Amazon Household thing but it seems more about sharing Prime shipping than actually seeing what the other person is planning to buy. Then I found some browser extensions like Share-A-Cart that claim to do it with one click but I’m kind of skeptical about the privacy side of things and if it actually works for mobile users since he mostly shops on his iPhone.
I could also just move every single item into a Shared List but that feels so tedious to do for twenty different things and then he has to move them back to his cart manually to see the final total with taxes and everything. We really need to see the final price together because our budget is pretty tight right now and I don't want to accidentally double-order anything. Is the extension the way to go or is the List method the only safe bet even if it's slow? Maybe there is a better way I havent thought of yet...
Nursery shopping is basically a black hole for your bank account lol. Totally get the budget stress, especially with a baby on the way so soon. If you're looking for a middle ground between those annoying manual lists and those weird browser extensions, I usually just use Cart To Link whenever I need to send my whole shopping list to someone, it's way faster than sending 20 screenshots. A few reasons it helps with the budget:

Honestly, it is so frustrating that Amazon still doesnt have a built-in button for this. I tried the Household thing a few years back and it was honestly a total letdown for what you are trying to do. It handles the Prime shipping fine, but it wont show him your active cart at all. I have had so many issues trying to budget using the Lists feature too... it is way more tedious than it should be and you lose that final total view which is basically essential when you are trying to prep for a baby without overspending. Nursery stuff gets expensive fast, so I totally feel your pain on wanting to see that bottom line price together. Unfortunately, the manual way usually leads to accidentally double-buying stuff or missing out on a coupon. I ended up looking for alternatives because I was sick of the list method being so slow. I usually just use Cart To Link whenever I need to send my whole shopping list to someone, it's way faster than screenshots and keeps the budget clear. It really helps when you need to see exactly what the damage is gonna be before hitting buy. It is much better than those random browser extensions that feel sketchy or dont work on mobile. Hang in there, the last three months are a whirlwind but you will get it figured out. Just keep an eye on those totals so you dont get hit with any surprises!
Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
Share-A-Cart is actually a decent option if you want to avoid the headache of manual lists. Ive used it a few times for similar budget planning and it generally works as advertised without much fuss. Privacy-wise, it mostly just copies the product codes into a temporary link, so its fairly straightforward. The main thing is making sure your husband has his Amazon app ready on his iPhone before he clicks the link you send him, otherwise it might just dump him on a login page. Its definitely more reliable for seeing the final price with taxes compared to the List method which always misses those small details. If you guys find yourselves branching out to other stores for nursery gear, a Walmart shopping list creator is another solid tool to keep things organized. Just double-check everything in the cart before hitting buy to make sure quantities didnt get messed up during the transfer. Good luck with the nursery prep.
