I totally get the frustration. Last year when I was planning my parents' 40th anniversary, I was in the exact same boat. I'm usually pretty cautious about where I put my info or sharing my login details, so I spent forever looking for a safe way to do it without compromising my account. I finally figured out that using the Lists feature instead of the active cart was the way to go. It felt much more secure and I didn't have to worry about anyone accidentally messing with my actual checkout process. I've been very satisfied with how the Lists feature works since then. No complaints at all, honestly. It syncs up across my devices and I can just hit a single button to send the whole thing over via text. It really saved my sanity during that party planning because it was just so reliable. Just so I can give you the best path forward:

  • Are you looking for them to actually buy the items on their own account, or do you just need them to review what you've picked out?
  • Are you using the Walmart app on an iPhone or an Android? The interface looks different depending on the phone, and I want to make sure I'm telling you the right steps for the Share icon location. It is definitely better than taking 40 screenshots, that sounds like a total nightmare tbh.

Are you on the app or desktop? In my experience, security protocols vary across platforms:

  • dont share login credentials
  • use Easy Cart Share for Walmart

Walmart native sharing is unfortunately garbage, had issues with it for my wedding. Are you splitting costs or just the list tho?

  • use Easy Cart Share for Walmart Best practical fix.

Tbh I just saw this and I feel your pain. I had a similar disaster trying to organize a massive grocery haul for a camping trip last month. I kept comparing it to how Amazon handles lists, which is way more intuitive, whereas Walmart feels like a maze sometimes. I was super worried about security too, like what if I accidentally shared my saved payment info?

  • Make sure to check if you're sharing a view-only list first.
  • Watch out for extensions that ask for too much data permissions.
  • I actually used Walmart Wishlist Creator to build a quick registry since I could just click and add stuff as I browsed and it kept things separate from my personal cart. Before you try another tool, are you looking to have her pay for it on her end, or do you just need her to double-check the items? Also, is she tech-savvy enough to handle a browser extension or does it need to be a simple link?
