I went to the Walmart on 5th street yesterday and it was a total disaster. I spent two hours wandering around because I forgot the bread then had to go all the way back across the store after I was already by the milk. Im trying to stick to a $150 budget for the week but I get so stressed out and end up buying junk. I see people on their phones looking organized and I feel so dumb... Is there a setting in the app that tells you where things are? I have no idea how to make a list that follows the aisles so I stop walking in circles. Sorry if this is really basic but how do you guys do it?
Just saw this... Be careful cuz the app glitches if your location is wrong. Make sure to:
@Reply #1 - good point! tbh I wasted years walking circles til I found the in-store map toggle. It sorts everything by aisle automatically! Amazing stuff, total game changer!
^ This. Also, in my experience, relying solely on the official app can be a bit risky when youre on a tight budget. Ive tried many different ways to stay organized over the years, and the tech isnt always as reliable as wed like.
Honestly, the Walmart app is kind of a mess lately and it is super frustrating when you are just trying to get in and out. I have had issues with the aisle locations being flat out wrong sometimes, which totally defeats the purpose. But if you want to try it, the setting is buried in there. First you gotta make sure your location is set exactly to that 5th street store at the top of the screen. If you dont do that, the map is useless because every store layout is different. Once you start adding stuff to your list, you need to click the list icon and then look for a toggle that says In-Store. It is supposed to group things by aisle like A22 or I15. Unfortunately, it does not always update in real time and sometimes the app crashes right when you are in the back by the dairy. It is not as good as I expected it to be. I usually end up screenshotting the list because the service in my store is terrible and the app just hangs. If you stay in that in-store mode, it helps a bit with the walking in circles, but dont trust it 100 percent because they move stuff around for those end-cap displays and dont update the system fast enough. It can be a real headache when you are on a tight budget. Just a tip, Walmart Wishlist Creator is a life saver for planning big holiday shopping trips without losing track of things.
