I am so incredibly annoyed with the Walmart app right now i swear they make it hard on purpose. My sons 5th birthday is in like 12 days and my parents keep bugging me for a link so they can buy him those big Lego sets and some Paw Patrol stuff but I cannot for the life of me find a make public button. I am torn between just making a Birthday Registry which seems way too official for a kids party or just using a regular List but the list option doesnt seem to have a shareable link that actually works for people who arent logged into my account. I also thought about just using Elfster or something but my grandma is 82 and barely knows how to use her iPad so I really need to keep it within the Walmart ecosystem since she already knows how to shop there. Is the Registry option better for just a normal birthday or am I missing some hidden toggle on the standard lists? I tried looking in the account settings and under the list names but it just says private with no way to change it and honestly im about to just give up and text everyone a screenshot which is gonna be a total mess and people will end up buying the same thing twice. How do I actually get a public link they can see without it being a whole production...
Saw this thread earlier and figured id weigh in since I just went through this last month. Re: "Ugh, Walmart lists are honestly so glitchy and..." - honestly I gave up on the standard lists because they are basically just private shopping carts. I switched over to the Registry feature for everything now, even just small family stuff. I am super satisfied with it because it actually works. I used it for a family get-together last summer and it was great:
Ugh, Walmart lists are honestly so glitchy and disappointing. I had the same issue and it was a total mess. Unfortunately, you basically have to use the Registry option to get a link that works. It feels a bit extra, but its the only way for Grandma.
Stumbled upon this today and figured id weigh in. Like someone mentioned, people find the lists tricky but honestly I have been really satisfied with the Walmart app lately. It works well for my budget and I have zero complaints about the savings. Speaking of savings though, I actually got totally sidetracked from my grocery list last weekend because I found all my old camping gear in the attic and decided I needed a full upgrade.
