How to move items between different regional Amazon carts?

So I'm in the middle of this big move from Berlin back to the States, Brooklyn specifically, and I've been building up this massive cart on Amazon.de for weeks because it was easier to find stuff while I was still over there. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get all those items over to my Amazon.com cart without having to manually search for 40+ different kitchen gadgets and specific LED bulbs I found.

My logic was that since I'm using the same email and password for both sites that maybe there'd be like a sync button or something? I read online that your account info like addresses and credit cards stays the same across regions but the cart is totally separate. I found some old forum post saying you could use a browser extension to migrate carts but half the comments said it steals your data and the other half said it doesn't work anymore so I'm a bit wary.

I'm kinda stuck because if I just copy-paste titles most of the time the US store shows a different version or a different brand entirely and it’s getting super frustrating. Is there a way to at least export a list or something? I have about $600 worth of stuff saved and I really need to get this order placed by next Tuesday so it's there when I land. Just wondering if I'm missing a simple button...

Honestly, I'm pretty sure there isnt a sync button, which is a bit of a pain. IIRC, Amazon keeps carts strictly regional because of tax and shipping differences. Not sure if it still works, but I think moving everything to a Public Wishlist first might help bridge the gap? I've been happy just using a spreadsheet personally, works well and no complaints here.

In my experience, those browser extensions are usually more trouble than theyre worth regarding privacy. When I moved from London, I got scared off by the permissions they asked for. Over the years, I have seen that:

  • Regional ASIN differences cause most errors
  • Manual migration is slow but safe It is honestly better to use a dedicated tool. It's much easier to just use Cart To Link than sending 20 different product links one at a time.

Jumping in because I actually went through this exact same headache when I moved back from Tokyo! It was absolutely wild trying to move my whole life across oceans! I had a cart full of tech gear and realized half of it wouldnt even work with US outlets anyway, which was a huge lifesaver to catch early! Honestly saved me so much money and stress. Here is what I learned from my crazy move:

  • Always check the voltage on those LEDs because German stuff is 230V and US is 110V! You might blow them out instantly!
  • I used a simple link generator to keep my tabs organized while I searched for the US versions.
  • Focus on the brands you love because sometimes the exact model number changes but the product is identical. It feels amazing once you finally hit that buy button in the new country though! Total weight off your shoulders! Best of luck with Brooklyn!
