How to transfer items between Amazon accounts in different countries?

So I'm moving from Seattle to London in about two weeks for a new job and I am staring at my US Amazon account like... what do I do with all this? I have probably a hundred items saved in various lists for my new apartment and I really dont want to have to manually search and re-add every single thing on the UK site because the search results are different and some brands arent even there. My logic was that I could just change the region in the settings but I read some conflicting stuff online. One guide said you can just transfer your content and devices through the Manage Your Content page but then a reddit thread from like 2023 said that only works for digital stuff like Kindle books and it might actually wipe your household sharing or cancel your Prime sub immediately. I am mostly worried about my shopping lists and my kindle library merging correctly without losing access to the US-only titles I bought. Is there like a way to export the list as a csv or something or do I really have to open two tabs and copy-paste for three hours? I honestly just want my saved items to show up on the .co.uk side so I can see what actually ships there. It's such a headache trying to figure out if my prime carries over or if I'm just gonna be starting from scratch...

Hello, you can try Share product extension:

TL;DR: Use an extension like Share-Product to export your lists. It is the most cost-effective method to avoid manual errors and save tons of time! To add to the point above: the process of manual migration is honestly a nightmare for your wallet and your sanity. I found that using Share-Product is an amazing way to bridge the gap between the US and UK stores! It works methodically by grabbing your list data and helping you find the UK versions of those products. The technical logic is pretty simple:

  • Export your US list data via the extension
  • Use the tool to map those items to the .co.uk catalog
  • Review the price differences immediately to stay on budget I love this approach because it prevents you from accidentally canceling your US Prime sub or losing your Kindle library. It is a fantastic, professional workaround that keeps everything organized while youre busy with the move. Moving is already expensive, so not wasting three hours on manual data entry is a huge win! Its honestly amazing how much stress this takes off your plate...

Been thinking about your move since I went through the same thing when I relocated from London to the States a few years back. I tried the whole transfer content and devices trick thinking it would magically sync my lists, but it was honestly a mess. I have to politely disagree with anyone suggesting that changing the region settings is a clean fix for shopping lists. The problem is technical... Amazon uses ASINs (unique product IDs) and they almost never match between the US and UK stores for physical goods. Even if your list technically moves, the items will likely show as unavailable because the UK site doesnt recognize the US SKU.

  • Try a browser extension like Keepa to quickly check if a product has a UK equivalent by swapping domains.
  • Dont merge your Kindle accounts yet. Licensing is a nightmare and I actually lost access to some US-exclusive titles when I tried to consolidate everything into one region. Basically, my experience was that physical lists are better off being rebuilt manually using a universal wishlist tool. I spent hours trying to force the sync to work only to realize half the brands I liked in the US werent even sold in the UK. Just keep the accounts separate for a while so you dont lose your Kindle library while you get settled.

Like someone mentioned, that official migration tool is a trap. In my experience, trying to merge everything just creates a digital ghost town where half your features stop working. Ive moved around a lot over the years and there are basically two ways to handle this:

  • Official Migration: This is only good for Kindle books. It will absolutely cancel your US Prime and might mess up your digital credits. It doesnt even touch your shopping lists.
  • The Shared List Method: This is my go-to. Make your US lists public and share the link with your new UK account. It lets you see your items on one screen so you can find the UK equivalent without the copy-paste nightmare. I actually disagree with the idea of transferring the whole account though. It is much cleaner to just start a fresh UK one. Use a tool like Keepa to track if youre actually getting a good deal on the UK side because prices there include tax already. Plus, your Seattle electronics might not even work on 240v anyway... save yourself the headache and just rebuy the essentials.
