im trying to send a bunch of links for my sisters baby shower registry from the walmart app and its driving me crazy. i saw people say online to just hit the share icon at the top but every time i do it pulls up my mail app first and i just want the raw link to text her. i also tried holding down on the product image like someone on reddit suggested but it just wants to save the image to my gallery which isnt what i need.

requirements for a fix:

  • has to be one or two taps max
  • needs to work on an iphone 13
  • i dont want to download some sketchy link shortener app

anyone know if theres a faster way to just grab the url?

> i just want the raw link to text her @Reply #1 - good point! Honestly I am so obsessed with organizing these types of things, baby showers are just the best! Real quick tho, are you trying to grab the link while you are looking at the search results or are you actually clicked into the specific product page? The UI acts kinda different depending on where you are in the app. Once you hit share, you gotta ignore those app icons at the top! On an iPhone 13, just scroll down past the rows of people and apps and youll see a text option that says Copy. Its amazing because it just puts the raw link on your clipboard instantly! I also started using Walmart Wishlist Creator for all my planning lately and it is seriously a lifesaver for keeping links organized without losing your mind. Love how it handles everything!

Saw this earlier but just getting around to responding. Honestly, I totally agree with the others that the Walmart interface has become such a mess lately. I had a massive headache trying to do something similar for my nieces graduation party last summer. Unfortunately, it seems like every time they update the app, they make it harder to just grab a simple URL without jumping through hoops. I even tried a couple of those third-party shortcut tools people recommend on TikTok, but they felt super sketchy and I ended up deleting them immediately because I am really cautious about what I put on my iPhone 13. A few things I noticed while struggling with this myself:

  • The iOS share sheet often hides the Copy Link option way down past all the apps you never use.
  • If you have your mail app set as the primary, it defaults to that annoying compose window every single time.
  • I actually gave up on the app and started using this browser extension on my laptop because mobile is just too glitchy for bulk sharing. I wanted to ask though, are you trying to send links for individual items one by one, or are you trying to share the entire registry list link? Also, is the main goal to keep the messages short, or are you okay with those massive long URLs as long as they actually open correctly for her?

I've spent way too much time navigating retail apps over the years and Walmart is definitely one of the more annoying ones compared to how Target or Amazon handles it. Basically, if you want a one-tap solution on your iPhone 13, it's worth taking five minutes to build a quick iOS Shortcut. Once it's set up, you just hit Share and tap your custom shortcut... no more scrolling through apps you don't use. If you don't want to mess with that, just force yourself to look for the Copy button at the bottom of the system share sheet. I've tried many methods and honestly, the app-specific buttons are usually junk. Stick to the system-level copy for the raw URL every time.

Honestly, the Walmart app has gone downhill lately and its frustrating how hard they make it to just save some cash and share links. Ive been using it for years and it used to be way more reliable. To get that link on your iPhone 13 without the mess:

  • Hit the share icon and ignore the suggested apps. Scroll down until you see Copy. That is the only way to get the clean URL every time without it opening your mail app.
  • If you really want to save money, skip the app and use Safari. Its way more reliable for seeing the actual price history and grabbing the link directly from the address bar.
  • Keep an eye on those generic brands while you are at it. The app likes to push the expensive name brands to the top of registries but you can usually find the same stuff for half the price if you just search manually. Dont let the app UI trick you into spending more tho.

honestly i had the exact same issue when i was setting up a registry last year and it drove me nuts too. the walmart app defaults to whatever app it thinks you want to use but there is a way to just get the link without the extra steps. its basically a two-tap thing if you know where to look. here is what works for me on my iphone 13:

  • tap that share icon at the top right like you have been doing
  • instead of looking at the row of apps swipe up on that share sheet to see more options
  • tap the copy button and it puts the raw link right on your clipboard if that still feels too slow i honestly just started using safari for walmart stuff instead. you can just tap the address bar and hit copy way faster. both ways are decent options but the copy button in the app is probably what you need right now... let me know if it works!
