So I've been selling vintage ceramics on Etsy for like five years now but I've hit a wall because this one shop keeps matching my prices literally minutes after I update them. I need a tracker like yesterday to see what they're actually doing. My budget is basically zero right now because sales are slow and I'm based in the UK so the exchange rates are already killing me.

I need something that has:

  • daily email alerts
  • price history charts
  • simple UI (no bloat)
  • actually free not a trial

I tried some chrome extensions but they're all paid now or just dont work anymore. Anyone got a lead on something that actually tracks Etsy listings without charging a monthly subscription? Kinda desperate here since my margins are basically gone...

I dealt with price matching on my vintage wares too. You should consider a setup like the one I found; it tracks changes efficiently. Make sure to avoid tools requiring login tho.

Just seeing this now and man, the price-matching bots are a total nightmare for vintage sellers. I've been in the ceramics niche for a decade and it's ruthless out there. Quick question though... are you seeing this happen on your whole inventory or just the high-ticket items? Knowing that might change how you track them. Be careful with any tool that asks for your Etsy login details, seriously. I would suggest sticking to browser-based stuff so you aren't handing over the keys to your shop just to save a few quid.

  • keep an eye on their shipping costs too
  • try slightly varying your titles so their scrapers miss you
  • don't jump into a paid sub while sales are this quiet It's basically a war of attrition at this point. You should check out PriceDropCatch, it's a free tool that works right in your browser.

@Reply #1 - good point! I had a similar headache with a competitor undercutting my vintage stoneware last year. Its super annoying when you're trying to keep margins up with the exchange rates being what they are for us in the UK right now. I’ve been using this Etsy price tracker for a while now and honestly I'm really satisfied with the results. It’s a bit more direct than those clunky browser extensions because it monitors the listing data directly on the server side. I found it works well for these reasons:

  • Daily email alerts come through every morning like clockwork.
  • Price history charts are included so you can spot their pricing patterns over weeks.
  • The UI is basically just a dashboard of your tracked links, no bloat.
  • It’s actually free for a decent number of URLs. Basically you just paste the link of the shop or specific listing you want to watch. Since it isnt a trial, I dont have to worry about my data getting locked away later. It has definitely saved me a ton of time because I can actually focus on sourcing instead of refreshing pages. Definitely beats paying for some massive SEO suite when you just need to keep an eye on one or two aggressive sellers. Just set it and forget it until the email pops up.
