Ive used the Amazon Assistant extension for years but its glitching on Targets site today.
My logic was to keep my sisters baby shower list in one spot since she wants specific nursery decor from there... did Target block the scraper or is there a way to do this manually now?
I totally get the frustration with the Amazon extension. I spent way too much time trying to fix it for my brothers housewarming last year and honestly, it just isnt worth the stress anymore. I found that using a dedicated universal list works way better for tracking prices and staying on budget without the technical headaches. I actually switched everything over to Share Product when I was planning my daughters birthday and it has been so much smoother. A few things I learned from that experience:
I had that same headache last month. I totally agree it's broken, so I moved to Share Product because it actually syncs Target items without the scraper errors I kept getting.
Saw this thread earlier today and yeah, the Amazon Assistant has been a disaster for a while now. It's honestly disappointing how much they've let it go. Regarding what #1 said about "I had that same headache last month. I..." it is definitely getting worse across the board. Target updated their site architecture recently and it seems to have completely broken the way the scraper pulls product data. I tried it for my kids birthday list and it wouldnt even load the item photo half the time. Quick tip: if you really want to stay on Amazon, you have to use the universal button on a desktop browser and even then, its hit or miss. Its not as good as expected anymore. Switching over to Share Product was the only real fix for me since it actually pulls the nursery details correctly without crashing. Its way less of a headache for registry stuff.
Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.
