Okay so I am trying to finish this PC build for my brothers birthday which is literally this Saturday so I'm in a huge rush right now. I have all these parts sitting in my Amazon cart and the total is around $900 which is my max budget so I really need someone on r/buildapc to look it over before I pull the trigger.
I spent like an hour looking this up and I saw people saying you can just copy the URL but when I tried that it just goes to an empty cart for everyone else. Then I read about making a Public Wish List but I am worried my full name and address might show up on there plus I dont want him to see it if he searches my name lol. My logic was that there had to be a way to just generate a link for the whole basket but maybe that isnt a thing?
I have tried:
I also saw something about using an extension called Share-A-Cart but some people on a 2 year old thread said it was buggy and stole data so I am kinda scared to use it. Do I have to manually copy-paste every single link into the post? That seems like it would take forever and nobody is gonna click 10 different links anyway. Is there a way to do this that keeps my info private but shows the whole build list at once? I'm in Chicago and parts take forever to ship lately so I need to order tonight if I want it by the weekend...
Jumping in, over the years I have tried many ways to share parts without doxxing myself. I once leaked my address via a wishlist, it was a mess. Better to just use a dedicated builder site that generates a clean link.
Wait, before you pull the trigger on that $900, what specific CPU and GPU combo did you actually pick out? Prices on Amazon change constantly and tbh you might be able to swap a few parts to get better performance for the same money.
Facts.
^ This. Also, be careful with the advice to just stick to big brands. On a 900 dollar budget, you are gonna eat up your headroom paying for a brand name when a cheaper, reliable alternative could get you a better GPU. Better to stay away from those cart-sharing extensions too. Most of them are pretty sketchy with privacy and you dont want some random tool seeing your shopping habits or login cookies. Amazon is notorious for leaking zip codes or your full name on lists anyway if you dont click through ten different sub-menus to hide everything. TL;DR: Manually enter your parts into PCPartPicker. It protects your privacy and helps you spot compatibility issues that Amazon wont catch. I found that Walmart Wishlist Creator works great if you want to save items from different stores too, not just Walmart.
Unfortunately, Amazon still lacks a proper way to share baskets directly. I had issues with those public wishlists in the past because they leak private data. It isnt as good as expected for such a huge site. Using Cart To Link is basically what I do to get it done quickly. For the parts, just stick with anything from ASUS or Corsair... you really cant go wrong with their stuff.

Wait, before you try anything else, are you doing this all on your phone or are you sitting at a desktop? It kinda makes a huge difference for how you should handle the link sharing. I am always super cautious about those random cart extensions because honestly, a lot of them feel like total spyware. You really gotta be careful with your data these days... especially with your home address potentially tied to the cart. I have been using PriceDropCatch for ages and I am honestly so happy with it. It works well and I have no complaints about how it tracks things safely. If you are worried about the $900 budget, maybe check if any of your parts had a price shift lately? Anyway, tell us which way you are browsing so we can find a privacy-friendly way to get that list over to Reddit without doxxing yourself before the weekend hits!
> Is there a way to do this that keeps my info private but shows the whole build list at once? ugh i have this exact same issue and honestly its been driving me crazy for like three weeks now. i am actually really happy with the performance specs i managed to squeeze into my budget but i literally cannot find a way to share the basket without it being a total privacy nightmare. been looking for a solution forever and it is so annoying that a huge site like amazon makes this so difficult... just want someone to double check my build before i buy it. i am totally stuck in the same boat as you and still havent found a fix that actually works safely.
