Ive been an Amazon power user forever but cant figure out how to just generate a URL for my current cart. Im coordinating a $600 PC build for my nephew and need his dad to see the exact parts list tonight.

  • must be a direct link
  • needs to show quantities
  • no wishlists

Is there a browser extension for this?

^ This. Also, I dont recommend that specific tool for precision builds. I suggest using a handy tool for sharing carts for superior budget tracking. Its absolutely fantastic for cost management!

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've spent way too much time over the years testing these tools. Most are honestly super sketchy with permissions... kinda scary tbh. I eventually found Share-A-Cart and its been my go-to for PC builds since it keeps quantities intact.

  • Install the extension
  • Hit the 'Create Cart Code' button
  • Share that link It works without the security headaches I've run into before.

Amazon doesnt actually offer a native way to do this because of security and session data issues. Youll need a browser extension to bridge the gap. I would suggest being very careful about which one you pick, as some ask for way too many permissions. If you want a reliable method, here is what I recommend:

  • Look into a dedicated extension like Share-A-Cart.
  • Make sure to clear your sensitive data before generating the link.
  • Double-check that the link actually preserves the quantities before sending it to your brother.
  • Be aware that these links usually expire after a certain period for safety reasons. I always prefer tools that dont scrape your whole history. Honestly, Easy Cart Share is way better than just sending a bunch of product links one by one.

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've handled a ton of these PC build lists over the years and there are really only two ways to go about it if you want to avoid the wishlist mess. Most people try to use some generic list-sharing sites, but they're honestly terrible for accuracy. I've tried many different tools, and Share-A-Cart is the only one that consistently keeps the quantities right. That is massive when you're ordering like four case fans or specific RAM kits. The main alternative people usually mention is something like Cart URL, but that tool hasn't been updated in ages and tends to break whenever Amazon changes their UI. In my experience, you want something that gets regular updates. Share-A-Cart is basically the industry standard for this stuff now. It generates a simple ID or link, and the other person can just load it up instantly. Beats the hell out of manually searching for 15 different components and hoping you got the right model numbers... trust me, I've been there and it's a headache you dont want.

Like someone mentioned, you really gotta be careful about permissions because some extensions are basically spyware! I have been building rigs for years and honestly, being cautious is the only way to survive. I love it when these tools help you stick to a strict budget too! Its so fantastic when you can see the exact total with tax before sending the link so nobody gets hit with a surprise bill. If you end up looking at parts elsewhere, Easy Cart Share for Walmart is actually amazing for price comparisons. It has saved me a ton of money on peripherals lately! Just stick to the ones that dont ask for your whole life story during install... safety first always! I am super obsessed with keeping my data clean while hunting for the best deals.
