How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with my husband?

So I have been sitting here for like three hours trying to figure out the nursery for our first baby who is due in about eight weeks and I am honestly so overwhelmed. We are on a pretty tight budget of about $900 for all the big stuff and I have found everything I want on Amazon but now I am stuck. I have a bunch of items sitting in my shopping cart right now:

  • the gray convertible crib
  • a memory foam mattress
  • the blackout curtains for the big window
  • a small white noise machine
  • a pack of 10 muslin swaddles

I really need my husband to see these before I spend all that money. I want to make sure he likes the color of the rug especially because it looks a bit more teal than blue in some of the customer photos and he is really picky about that stuff. The problem is I dont know how to show him the cart without him having to come over here and look at my tiny phone screen. I looked all over the app for a share button like you see on YouTube or Facebook but it just isnt there. I thought about maybe just giving him my password but I read somewhere that might lock your account or something and I really dont want to deal with that right now while I am this stressed. I tried to copy and paste the links to the items but when I send them to him in a text message he says he has to click each one individually and it doesnt show the total price with the shipping and taxes added up.

Is there some kind of button I am missing that lets two people look at the same cart? Or maybe we can link our accounts somehow? Sorry if this is a really basic thing that everyone else knows how to do but I am just completely lost. I really want to get this ordered by the end of the week so it gets to our house in Phoenix before he goes on his work trip. How do I get him to see what I have in my cart?

Honestly, I went through the exact same thing when we were prepping our nursery last year. Amazon is weirdly bad about this. There isnt a simple share button in the app, and you definitely shouldnt share your login info because their security system might flag it as a hack and lock you out right when you need to order. Since you are on a tight budget, I would suggest a few things to be safe:

  • Move everything to a public Wish List and send him that link.
  • Be careful though, lists dont show the final tax or shipping total like the cart does.
  • Use this cart sharing tool if you want him to actually see the checkout screen without giving him your password. I would suggest double checking the rug reviews specifically for those teal complaints before you buy. If he is picky, it is better to be safe than deal with a return while you are eight months pregnant. You got this!

Amazon lacks a native API for cart synchronization between separate accounts. In my experience, sharing lists of individual URLs is prone to error because it doesnt aggregate tax or shipping data for your specific Phoenix zip code. Dont share your password tho, as it usually triggers a security lockdown.

  • URLs miss total costs
  • 2FA is a hassle I just use Easy Cart Share whenever I need to show someone what's in my cart without giving out my login info.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

I've spent way too much time analyzing how Amazon handles account data, and unfortunately, their sharing architecture is not as good as expected for stuff like this. I had issues with their Household feature when we were doing our house—it links the Prime perks but keeps the cart databases totally separate. Its basically a siloed system, which is a letdown compared to how other retailers handle collaborative shopping. Quick tip: dont trust the 'Invite to collaborate' link on registries to show the final checkout price with tax. It usually misses those Phoenix-specific fees until the very last click. Honestly, you are better off using an extension to sync the cart manifest because the native tools just wont cut it for a tight budget.
