Okay so Im trying to get all the supplies together for our neighborhood block party this Saturday in Austin and Ive got like $400 worth of burgers, buns, and drinks in my Walmart cart right now. Ive been using the app for like five years and never had an issue but Im totally stuck on something stupid. I need to send the whole list to my sister so she can look it over and pay for her half but theres no share button anywhere.
So I was thinking okay Ill just copy the URL from my browser on my laptop and text it to her. Simple right? But when she clicks it it just shows an empty cart for her. My logic was that the URL would have some kind of unique session ID or something that would let her see what I picked out but I guess its locked to my account login or something. I even tried looking in the account settings for a collaborative cart feature like some other sites have but I cant find anything like that.
The clock is ticking because I need to get this order placed by tonight so the delivery window is open for Thursday afternoon. Is there a way to actually share the live cart link or do I seriously have to screenshot 40 different items and send them one by one? This seems like such a basic thing Im probably just missing a button right in front of my face...
Ugh, honestly it is so annoying that Walmart makes this so difficult. I have used the app for years and they still havent added a simple Share Cart button that actually works consistently. Unfortunately, sharing the URL is a total dead end since it is tied to your account session, so your sister is just gonna keep seeing a blank screen. It is really not as good as it should be for a huge company like them and I always run into this when trying to split grocery orders for events. The quickest workaround I found is to move all your stuff into a List instead of the cart. You kinda have to do it item by item which is a pain, but once they are all in a list, there is a share icon at the top right of that specific list page. You can text that link to her and she can see everything and just hit Add all to cart on her end. Tbh I wish they just had a collab cart feature like some other sites but this is the best we get for now. Another option is just logging into your account on her phone if you trust her with your login info... saves a lot of clicking around and avoids the headache of 40 screenshots. Just sucks the app is such a letdown sometimes when you are on a deadline.
