So I am planning this big group camping trip for next month up in the Adirondacks and my buddy and I are finally ready to pull the trigger on all the shared gear we need. Ive been a heavy Amazon user for like a decade so I usually know my way around the UI and the checkout flow but I have hit a total wall here. I have about 15 items sitting in my cart right now like a portable stove, some specific lanterns, and dry bags and I am trying to find a way to just send him a direct link to the whole cart so he can see the total price. We have a $450 budget and I want him to double check the list before I hit buy. My logic was that there might be some kind of share button or maybe I could just copy the URL but then I realized the cart is tied to my specific session and cookies so if I send him that link it is just gonna show his own empty cart. I thought about making a public List but that is such a pain because you have to add every item one by one and it doesnt show the quantities I set or the specific third-party sellers I picked for the faster shipping. Is there some kind of hidden feature or maybe a browser extension that bundles a cart into a shareable URL? I really dont want to have to take a dozen screenshots and text them to him one by one... there has to be a way to do this right?
Make sure to be careful with those third-party extensions since they can be a bit sketchy with data. Quick question tho, are you planning to split the payment or just show him the gear?
Saw this and had to jump in because I dealt with the exact same thing last year planning a trip to the Smokies. It used to drive me crazy taking screenshots until I found a tool that actually works well. There is no native button on Amazon, which is annoying for such a big site, but I have been super satisfied with a browser extension called Share-A-Cart.
