Is there an easy way to share my Amazon cart contents?

I'm trying to get everything ready for my sisters baby shower in Seattle next month and my Amazon cart is just a total mess right now. I have about 25 items in there like streamers and little party favors but I really need my mom to check them over before I hit the buy button. The thing is I cannot for the life of me figure out how to just send her the list of whats in there. I keep looking for a share button or a link but there is nothing. I'm totally new to using Amazon for anything besides just buying a single book so I feel kinda dumb asking this but maybe there is a trick to it?

Here is what I am looking for:

  • a way to let her see the items without me buying them yet
  • something that doesnt require her to log into my account because I want to keep my password private
  • it has to be free because this party is already costing me way too much money

I tried taking a screenshot on my phone but it was way too long and cut off half the stuff so she couldnt see the prices. Is there an easier way to do this or am I just stuck? I really hope there is a simple button I am missing somewhere on the page...

Move items to a Wish List since shopping carts are private.

  • Click Move to list
  • Set privacy to shared
  • Send her the link Its free and keeps your password safe. Pretty easy tbh.

TL;DR: Use a free tool to turn your whole cart into a single link instantly without sharing passwords. Honestly, I went through the exact same thing when I was building my custom PC and needed my brother to check the hardware specs! Doing it manually is a total drag and you're bound to miss something or get the wrong variation. Like someone mentioned, the cart is private for security, but you can bypass the headache by using Cart To Link. It’s this fantastic little tool that generates a shareable link of your actual cart contents. I love it because it’s totally free and keeps your budget in check since your mom can see the exact price data and item specs before you commit. Seattle prices for party gear can be insane, so every cent counts! It takes like two seconds to set up and you dont have to give away your password or anything sketchy like that. It basically just parses the items and makes a clean, easy-to-read list for you. Its amazing how much time it saves compared to messing around with wish lists that never seem to save the right quantities or specific colors anyway... plus it keeps your private info safe while you're shopping. Good luck with the shower, I bet it's gonna be awesome!

> I really hope there is a simple button I am missing somewhere on the page... ^ This. Also, been thinking about your mess of a cart and honestly... you're not missing a button because Amazon just hasn't made one that actually works well. It's super frustrating. I had issues with this exact thing when I was speccing out parts for a custom rack server build last year. Every time I tried to share the list using those quick-fix tools, half the specific metadata just vanished. I've tried a couple DIY routes and they were honestly pretty disappointing:

  • Manual spreadsheets: The ultimate DIY way but it's a total slog. You get 100 percent accuracy but you'll spend an hour copy-pasting links. I did this for my server build and still managed to typo a model number.
  • Wish lists: Not as good as expected because they often lose the specific variations like colors or quantities. If you have 25 different party favors, there is a huge chance the pink ones turn back to blue in the list. Total nightmare. Since you mentioned the party is getting expensive, I've been using PriceDropCatch lately to track my gear hauls. It doesn't fix the sharing problem, but it definitely helps keep the costs down while you're waiting for feedback. Honestly, if you want it done right without your mom needing a login, a boring old shared doc might be your only safe bet, even if it feels like 2005 again.

@Reply #1 - good point! Honestly tho, I tried the wish list thing for my brothers wedding last year and it was kind of a disaster. Unfortunately, moving 25 separate items manually is a total pain and half the time the specific party favor variations I picked didn't carry over right. Total nightmare when the colors got swapped and mom got confused. Plus, you gotta be careful because if you set the list to public by mistake, anyone can see your sisters baby shower plans. It's not as good as it looks on paper and prices in the list dont always update the same way the cart does. Personally, I had way better luck using this chrome extension that just lets you share the whole cart as a link without moving anything. Saves so much time compared to clicking move to list 25 times... kinda just wish Amazon had a native button for this.
