What is the best Chrome extension for sharing shopping carts? I saw stuff about Share-A-Cart and Basket but the reviews are all over the place and some people say they leak data or have weird bugs which is making me super nervous.

I am trying to plan a big group camping trip for next weekend for my sisters bachelorette party and we have like $800 worth of gear and food to split between 6 of us across different states. I really dont want to have to manually copy-paste links for hours. I need something that actually works on Target and Amazon without crashing. Is there anything that actually works and feels safe? I'm running out of time...

Most of those extensions have been super glitchy for me lately tbh. I tried Share-A-Cart for a family trip and unfortunately it kept crashing on Target. It was definitely not as good as expected and led to a lot of manual work. Are you looking for everyone to pay individually or is one person buying everything? TL;DR: Current options are pretty disappointing but I can suggest a workaround soon.

I have used a few of these over the years and honestly found a solid flow that works. For bachelorette planning, you really want something that handles high volume without dropping items. I usually stick with a handy tool for sharing carts because it has been very stable on Target lately. Quick question though:

  • Do you need everyone to see the same cart live?
  • Are you looking to split the bill before or after the order?

> I need something that actually works on Target and Amazon without crashing. Stumbled onto this today. Just be careful with those extensions tho... I think I heard some have security issues with session hijacking if they arent updated regularly. Not 100% sure which ones are safe lately but basically stay away from anything with weird permissions. Are you all logged into the same account or separate ones? Because honestly sharing a login might be safer than a sketchy extension.

To add to the point above: finding a stable workflow is honestly the most important thing when you have $800 on the line! I am very cautious about my data too, so I totally understand the hesitation. After testing a few things out, I found a methodical way to do this that feels very secure! Basically, I love using a simple link generator because it doesnt require you to share passwords or give away weird permissions. You just bundle the items into a single link and send it over. It is amazing for group planning! It worked perfectly for my last Amazon and Target orders without a single crash. This way, you keep your account safe while making sure all six sisters are looking at the exact same camping gear! It really is a fantastic solution for staying organized and keeping your data private. Definitely try it out before the trip!

To add to the point above: most of these popular extensions are honestly a total mess lately. I had issues with several of them failing to sync properly on Amazon, and it is definitely not as good as expected when youre trying to organize a big trip. Unfortunately, most tools just dont handle large carts without glitching out. Quick tips for staying organized:

  • Keep a master spreadsheet of links as a backup because extensions fail more often than they work.
  • Use Share Product for the actual transfer since it is way more stable on Target than the older apps right now. I usually just do the DIY approach and verify everything manually before hitting pay. Relying 100 percent on an extension for an 800 dollar order is just asking for a headache tbh.

Building on the earlier suggestion, it seems like the general consensus here is that the big-name extensions are failing pretty hard lately. I've tried many over the years and it is always the same story... they work for a month then a site update breaks everything. I think I heard somewhere that Amazon and Target changed their security protocols recently, which is likely why everyone is seeing those crashes and data concerns mentioned earlier. Not 100% sure if there is a perfect fix, but if you are doing a $800 group buy, you definitely dont want to risk session hijacking by sharing logins or using something with sketchy permissions. In my experience, staying away from anything that requires a full account sync is the way to go for safety. Basically, the more simple the tool, the less likely it is to leak your info or crash your browser mid-checkout. If you're tired of adding items one by one, Cart To Link actually lets you just send the whole cart as a link.

Wait just saw this thread and honestly bachelorette camping sounds freaking amazing!! I am such a fan of group trips but the logistics can be such a headache lol. I've tested a bunch of these and you really have to be careful... some of the older ones like Basket are basically broken on Amazon now and will totally drop items without telling you, which would be a total disaster for an $800 gear list! Also super important: avoid any extension that asks for permissions to read and change all data on every site you visit. That is a massive security risk!! I've had much better luck with the extension I use for Walmart for my big grocery hauls lately because it doesn't lag out like the others. Quick question tho before I dive into my favs... are you guys planning on each person paying for their own stuff individually, or are you just trying to get one master list together for one person to buy everything at once?
