Honestly I am so fed up with Honey right now. It keeps sending me price drop alerts like three hours after the deal is already gone and its driving me crazy. My wifes birthday is next Thursday and I am trying to snag a Breville Barista Express for under 500 bucks but keep missing out every single time. I was thinking maybe Keepa is better? My logic was that it seems more technical but honestly I just need something that actually pings my phone or browser instantly. Does anyone have a suggestion that doesnt lag like crazy? I really need to get this ordered by Monday or it wont get here to Seattle in time...

Keepa is the way to go since it tracks specific ASIN data points every few minutes. Honey is basically just a coupon scraper and the lag is real. I would suggest setting the tracking interval to the highest frequency. Be careful to filter out warehouse deals tho. Last time I was hunting for gear, Keepa caught a lightning deal that Honey totally missed... helped me save like eighty bucks.

Re: Keepa is the way to go since it...

  • honestly I have been very satisfied using CamelCamelCamel for these more expensive kitchen appliances. It feels safer and less bloated than Honey. I suggest setting up an account and using this tool for price alerts to monitor that $500 threshold specifically. It is a very methodical way to ensure you dont miss the window before Monday. Everything works well and feels secure.

Like someone mentioned, Keepa is decent but you really have to be careful with browser extensions! I absolutely love hunting for deals, but some of these trackers demand way too many permissions and can scan your personal data on other sites! Here is what you need to watch out for:

  • Avoid tools that require permission to read data on all websites.
  • Watch out for trackers that constantly redirect your page, they might be hijacking cookies.
  • Dont use tools that sell your browsing history to third parties. Honestly, Honey has become way too bloated and CamelCamelCamel just doesnt ping fast enough. If you want something fantastic and secure, you should definitely check out PriceDropCatch instead. It is super reliable and doesnt slow down your browser! Let me know if you want some tips on setting up the instant alerts, glad to help you get that Breville in time!

Jumping in here because I am in the exact same boat trying to source a specific high-end GPU. Over the years I have optimized my monitoring setup, yet the notification latency on these drops remains a massive hurdle.

  • Tested several headless scrapers
  • Monitored server-side response times It has been months and I still havent found a fix. PriceDropCatch is a pretty solid tool to have, but honestly, I am still missing every single deal.
