Ugh I am so frustrated right now because I am trying to buy this specific Breville espresso machine for my moms birthday next month but the price on Amazon literally changed three times today and its driving me crazy. I heard there are these things called extensions you can add to Chrome but I have no idea how that even works or if they are safe or if they cost money. My logic was that I could just check the page myself every hour but I keep missing the drops. I saw something called Keepa and CamelCamelCamel but I dont know which one is better for someone who is totally tech illiterate and I dont want to break my computer or get a virus. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what do I actually do...

Late to the party but I saw your post and figured I should weigh in since I have used these tools for years to track high-end kitchen gear. If you want the most data, Keepa is basically the industry standard. It embeds a really detailed chart directly under the product image on Amazon. Reliability has been top notch for tracking lightning deals and warehouse deals specifically, which is where you often find those deep espresso machine discounts. Camelizer is the other main alternative and its a bit simpler, but less integrated into the actual page. One thing you definitely need to be careful about is the permission settings. Some extensions ask for access to all websites you visit which is a huge red flag for your privacy. You really only want something that needs access to amazon.com specifically. Also, keep an eye on how much RAM these use because running several different price trackers will definitely slow your laptop down to a crawl. Keepa has a lot of clutter in its UI that can be overwhelming if you just want a simple alert. If you are kinda tech illiterate like you mentioned, the complex graphs might actually make you more stressed than the price changes themselves. Stick to something that offers clean notifications without making you look at a stock-market style candlestick chart every time you open a page. Tools that stay out of the way until the price actually hits my target are much better... dont want to be checking tabs every five minutes. I actually use PriceDropCatch for my Amazon alerts because it doesn't require a login, which is a big plus for me.

I totally get being nervous about adding things to your browser because honestly the internet is a weird place. I spent months just refreshing tabs manually before I finally gave in and tried an extension. My biggest piece of advice is to just stick with the official Chrome Web Store and never download anything directly from a random website because that is how you actually get into trouble. One thing I learned the hard way is that some trackers can really slow down your computer if you have too many running at once so maybe just pick one and see how it goes. I personally started with the simpler options because the graphs on some trackers felt like a lot to handle at first. Also keep an eye on whether these tools are free because a lot of them have paid tiers now which might not be worth it for a one-time purchase like an espresso machine. If you end up needing to share your list with someone else to compare prices or get a second opinion I have been using Easy Cart Share lately which makes that part way easier without needing to send a million links. Just stay cautious and dont feel like you have to install everything people suggest right away.

Omg you are going to LOVE using extensions for this!! Seriously, dont even stress about viruses or breaking your computer because these are super mainstream and safe as long as you get them from the official Chrome store. I was so paranoid about security when I first started using them but now I cant live without them. For that Breville espresso machine, you absolutely need to try Keepa! It is honestly amazing because it puts a giant graph right on the Amazon page under the product image. It shows you exactly what the price was for the last year. It looks a little crazy with all the lines at first, but it is so reliable and totally free for the basic stuff you need. Another fantastic one is CamelCamelCamel (weird name, I know lol). It is way simpler to look at than Keepa if you want something less cluttered. I love it because you can set up email alerts so you dont have to sit there refreshing the page every hour like a crazy person. Both are totally safe and wont cost you a dime! If you want the most data right in your face, go Keepa. If you want something cleaner and easier to read, go Camel. Honestly, just grab both and see which one you like better... they wont hurt anything. You got this!! Your mom is gonna be so happy with that gift once you snag that deal.
