Is there any way to get like a notification or an email if something in my Etsy favorites goes on sale or drops in price? I feel like such a noob asking this but I’ve been clicking around for like twenty minutes and I can't find a setting for it anywhere and it's making me feel a little crazy lol.
Basically I'm stalking this one specific vintage lamp for my new place here in Chicago and the seller has it listed for $165. My budget is pretty tight because I just moved and I'm trying to keep my spending under control but I absolutely love this lamp and it would be perfect for my home office setup. I’m really hoping it goes on sale soon because I have my housewarming party coming up in three weeks and I want the place to look finished by then.
I tried adding it to my cart and leaving it there because someone told me sometimes sellers send you a coupon if you do that but nothing has happened yet. Is there an app or a website or maybe just a hidden button on the Etsy site itself that sends an alert? I really dont want to miss it if the price drops by even ten or twenty percent. I’ve never really used Etsy before this so I’m sorry if this is a really basic thing that everyone knows how to do.
I also see that little heart icon and I clicked that so now it's in my favorites list but I still don't see any option to track it or whatever. Do I need to download a separate browser extension or something? I’m not very tech savvy so if there is a way to do it just through the normal website that would be awesome. I'm just worried that if I keep checking manually every single day I'm gonna drive myself nuts or accidentally buy it at full price because I'm impatient...
Etsy doesnt really have a built-in alert system for that, which is basically what I found out when I was hunting for a custom rug last year. I ended up using the price tracker I use because it seemed like a reliable way to watch for drops without installing weird extensions. It worked pretty well and sent a notification the second my item went on sale.
@Reply #2 - good point! Visual monitors can be a bit overkill if you arent techy tho. In my experience over the years, I've tried many methods and a dedicated tracker is just way more reliable for staying on budget without the constant stress. It keeps things safe and simple while you wait for that lamp price to dip. If you're waiting for a specific item to go on sale, I'd definitely recommend PriceDropCatch.
I've been pretty satisfied with my current setup using a visual page monitor. It basically tracks the specific CSS selector for the price and notifies me of any DOM changes or price deltas instantly. Honestly, it works well because it's way more reliable than waiting for Etsy's background tasks to trigger an email, tbh. No complaints, it helped me grab a mid-century chair last month.
