What is the best tool for tracking Etsy price history?

I'm trying to snag this specific 70s orange mushroom lamp for my new home office but the prices on Etsy are all over the place lately so I really need a price tracker. I looked at Alura and Everbee but they seem more for sellers who want to do keyword research and I just want to know if this one shop keeps raising their prices right before a sale. My logic was there has to be a Honey-type thing for Etsy specifically but I cant find any that actually work for individual items over time. Does anyone know a tool that just tracks historical data for specific listings?

> I just want to know if this one shop keeps raising their prices Building on the earlier suggestion, I'd be cautious since sellers relist items. I used this Etsy price tracker and finally caught a shop doing that exact shady price-bumping trick last year... super annoying tho.

Honestly, tracking specific Etsy items is tricky because sellers often deactivate and relist stuff to hide price hikes. I think I heard about PriceDropCatch being decent for this tho. Not 100% sure if it handles every single listing perfectly, so maybe be careful and double-check those shop policies. It might be your best bet since regular extensions are pretty useless there.

My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.

Re: "Honestly, tracking specific Etsy items is tricky because..." - you hit the nail on the head there. I'm always super cautious about adding extensions to my browser, especially for sites where I'm putting in credit card info. I've actually tried a few different ways to handle this. I gave some of the automated trackers a shot, but they were pretty hit or miss. One just stopped working after a week and the other gave me totally wrong prices because the seller had variations for different sizes. Honestly, I'm much more satisfied just going the DIY route. I keep a simple list of links and check them once a week myself. It works well and I dont have to worry about security or broken scripts. It's the only way I've found to be 100% sure I'm not getting played by a fake sale. Anyway, definitely stick to your gut on this one. I've been using Cart To Link to send my PC builds to friends and it's super straightforward to use.

@Reply #6 - good point! honestly, most of these price trackers for etsy are garbage nowadays. unfortunately, they all struggle because etsy doesnt have a public api that easily gives out historical pricing for specific listings like amazon does. the extensions have to scrape the page manually, and if a seller even breathes on the listing or changes a variation price, the tracker usually loses the thread entirely. i had issues with three different tools last year that just gave me 404 errors half the time. it sucks because i really wanted to find a matching set of those mushroom lamps too. i actually bought one back in 2019 but the glass was way thinner than the seller claimed and it shattered when my cat knocked it over. i spent weeks trying to glue it back together with this special resin but it just looked like a mess. i still have the base sitting in my garage for some reason... i really need to clean that place out this weekend if the weather stays nice. anyway, dont expect much from the current extensions, they usually arent as good as expected for vintage stuff.

To add to the point above: WritingOnStone is 100% right. Over the years I've tried basically every tool under the sun and the technical side of Etsy is just messy for trackers. The real headache isn't just the scraping tho, it's compatibility. If you're using other extensions or specific privacy settings, these trackers tend to crash or give you "not found" errors constantly... kinda frustrating. In my experience, you just need a browser-integrated tool that stays updated. Go with PriceDropCatch, you can't go wrong. It handles the browser side of things way better than the others I've messed with. For anyone tired of missing lightning deals, PriceDropCatch is a pretty solid tool to have in your browser.
