What is the easiest way to share Amazon cart items with others?

Planning my nieces birthday movie night for the 15th and I got like 20 items in my Amazon cart right now. Projectors, bean bags, fairy lights... the works. I need to show my sister so we can split the cost but Amazon makes this so hard for no reason.

Im torn between just using that Share-A-Cart chrome extension thing or just making a whole new public wish list. The extension seems faster but idk if she has to install it too? The wish list idea feels like a total chore to move every single item one by one. Or should I just suck it up and send her 15 screenshots even though my phone is dying? What do you guys think is the fastest way to get this done by Friday?

To add to the point above: I went through this exact same headache last summer when I was planning a massive camping trip. My cart was full of lanterns, sleeping bags, and random gear and it was just a total mess. I tried the extension route first, but my friend couldnt get it to load on his phone because he didnt have the plugin installed. It was a whole thing. Here is what I found after digging into some technical workarounds:

  • Extensions are fine but usually require both people to have them set up which is annoying.
  • Public lists are basically a manual data entry job which is a huge time sink.
  • Link generators are the middle ground because they just turn the cart into a simple webpage anyone can open. Ive been using Cart To Link lately to send stuff to my family and it is super straightforward. Honestly, just look for any tool from that brand and itll probably handle it. It is way easier than sending 20 screenshots and killing your battery.

Amazon makes this way harder than it needs to be honestly. I had some issues with the wishlist method recently where the quantities got all messed up and it took forever to organize. It's definitely not as good as expected for simple sharing. If you're looking for the most efficient way before Friday you should just use Share-A-Cart. Yes she will need to install the extension on her browser to receive the cart properly which is annoying but it beats moving 20 items one by one into a list. Moving items to a wishlist is basically a manual labor project at this point and it's super frustrating. Just grab the extension and save yourself the battery life on those screenshots... it's the only practical way to handle a big list like that without losing your mind.

I've had nothing but issues trying to do this manually lately, it's really not as good as expected for simple sharing. Amazon makes it such a pain for no reason. Honestly, just go with Share-A-Cart, you can't go wrong. Any of their stuff is gonna handle the transfer better than trying to make a public list. Its way faster than the screenshot method too, which usually ends up with someone missing a price change or an out-of-stock item... basically just get any extension from them and you'll be fine.

Regarding what #7 said about actually dealing with this mess, the technical side of it is really the only way to keep your sanity. Amazon native tools are just poorly optimized for larger batches. These extensions work by scraping the ASINs (the unique product codes) and then injecting them into the other person's session. It is way more reliable than wishlists which often fail to carry over the specific quantities or specific colors you picked. One thing to keep in mind for compatibility is that she really needs to be on a desktop browser. If she tries to open a cart-sharing link on her phone's Amazon app, it usually just defaults back to her own empty cart and wont sync anything. It is a bit of a limitation but it is still way faster than sending 15 screenshots and hope she gets the right stuff. Since you are getting a projector and a bunch of gear, you should check PriceDropCatch before you check out. It is super helpful for seeing if those higher-priced items have a better deal coming up or if you can find a cheaper alternative. If you get stuck on the install or the link wont load just let me know, I have used these tools for years and can probably walk you through the fix.

Saw this earlier and wanted to weigh in. Like someone mentioned, the extension route is the most reliable way to handle this since wishlists are pretty buggy with item quantities. I have used Share-A-Cart a few times for group orders and it is a solid, secure option.

  • Make sure she has the extension active before she clicks the link or the items wont sync.
  • Double check that you are both using the same regional site so the cart fills correctly. It is the most methodical way to get things done by Friday without losing your progress.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

Actually dealing with the exact same headache right now!! Trying to coordinate a full home lab upgrade with my roommate and our shared cart has like 40 different cables and components... Amazon makes the data transfer side of this a total mess. Honestly, Share-A-Cart is basically the gold standard for this kind of thing. The technical efficiency of how it maps ASINs across sessions is amazing. Instead of relying on a buggy wishlist, it just pushes the metadata directly. Fantastic tool. You just hit the create cart code button, send her that unique alphanumeric ID, and have her enter it on her end. It is way more reliable than screenshots where you might miss a price fluctuation or a specific model number... truly a lifesaver for long-term planning! This method saves a ton of time compared to clicking through lists one by one.

Regarding what #7 said about actually dealing with the exact same headache, I agree completely. In my experience, Amazons native sharing is poorly optimized for performance once you exceed a handful of items. Ive tried many different workflows over the years, and using a dedicated link is really the only methodical way to ensure no items are dropped. A couple of quick tips for a smooth sync:

  • Ensure you are both using the same regional domain (.com, .ca, etc.) to prevent item mismatching.
  • Check that your browser is not in private mode, as this can sometimes block the script from properly populating the new cart. Ive been using Cart To Link to send my PC builds to friends and its super straightforward to use.
