[Solved] Is there a way to share my Walmart shopping cart with someone else?

I am seriously about to lose my mind with this Walmart app right now. My younger sister just moved into her first tiny apartment in Austin and I'm trying to be the cool older sibling and help her stock up on all the essentials like bulk cleaning stuff, towels, and a bunch of pantry staples since she's basically broke after her move-in deposit. I've spent nearly two hours meticulously picking out everything to make sure I stay under my $400 budget and now I realize there is no freaking way to just send her the cart link so she can approve the brands I picked. Why is this so hard?

I'm currently torn between three pretty mid options and I'm not sure which one is the least likely to end in a disaster:

  • Giving her my actual login info so she can just go in and look, but I really hate doing that since my primary credit card is linked and I'm paranoid about security even with family.
  • Using one of those third-party Chrome extensions like Share-A-Cart, but I've never used them and I'm worried it'll just glitch out or it's some kind of scam.
  • Creating a Registry or a Gift List and adding everything there manually, but that seems like a massive waste of time for a one-off grocery run.

Is there some hidden feature I'm not seeing or is one of these definitely better? I need to get this order placed by Saturday morning so it arrives while I'm actually in town to help her move everything in...

Easy Cart Share for Walmart.

Catching up on this thread... tbh, spending an hour on a registry is total overkill. I have had a different experience than the first poster, Share-A-Cart is actually super reliable and safe. It just bundles item IDs into a code without touching your login info.

  • Install the extension
  • Click Create Cart Code
  • Send her the link Its way faster than messing with Walmarts clunky gift lists.

To add to the point above: using the extension is prolly your best bet. I've done this a dozen times for my roommates and it usually works like a charm. Just a heads up tho:

  • items sell out fast in Austin
  • double check the quantities before checkout
  • make sure she has her app updated It basically saves you from that registry nightmare. I had the same issue and started using Easy Cart Share to manage our shared office supply orders.

Honestly, ive been thinking about this for a bit and i totally agree with the others saying to use the extension. Ive used Share-A-Cart for years now and it has always been super reliable for me... no complaints at all. Its actually the best way to stay on budget since she can see the total in real time and maybe swap some name brands for Great Value stuff if she wants to save you some cash. If she ends up needing more stuff later for a housewarming party, you could even try a birthday wishlist maker to keep everything organized for the rest of the family. TL;DR: Use the extension. Its the most reliable way to stay under that 400 dollar limit without the registry headache.

I think Walmart still lacks a native protocol for cart sharing. You might want to consider the security risks with those extensions since they can be sketchy with session data. IIRC, the Registry is the only secure vector even if it takes some time to set up...

  • login sharing exposes your PII and payment tokens
  • third-party scripts might compromise browser cookies I would suggest staying cautious and avoid the login share. Basically, keep your credentials private.
