What is the easiest way to share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

Im trying to coordinate this surprise retirement party for my dad and we have like 20 things in the cart already ranging from decorations to a fancy grill tool set. My brother is splitting the $400 bill with me and we need to get everything ordered by Wednesday so it gets here to Chicago on time. Im honestly getting so stressed because I have everything ready to go but I cant figure out how to just show him exactly whats in there so he can check the brands and stuff before I hit buy.

I looked up how to do it and saw some people talking about a browser extension called Share-A-Cart but it looks kinda sketchy like it might steal my login or something? Then I tried making a wish list but its super clunky and he says he cant see the specific quantities I picked out for the plates and napkins. I dont want to screenshot 15 different items because that takes forever and its just messy. Is there an actual official button for this that Im just missing? I really dont want to mess this up and end up with double the stuff or missing the deadline because we were arguing over what was actually in the list...

what is the easiest way to just send him my actual cart contents?

@Reply #1 - good point! Lists are basically useless for quantities. Ive tried many workarounds over the years and being cautious about your data is honestly smart.

  • Screen Recording: Super safe tho he cant click the actual links.
  • Share-A-Cart: Very fast but the permissions feel kinda sketchy if you ask me.
  • Collaborative Lists: Official but confusing and misses things. Just send a video of the screen... its way less stress.

Unfortunately, there is no official button for this, which is quite frustrating. I have dealt with this before and it usually turns into a mess. Here is how the main methods actually perform:

  • Amazon Wish Lists: These are not as good as expected. They fail to track quantities and often hide the exact seller, making price splitting difficult.
  • Share-A-Cart Extension: I had issues with the interface feeling outdated, though it is the fastest way to move items. It creates a code for the other person to receive the cart, but privacy concerns are valid.
  • Amazon Household: This is a formal route where you link accounts. It allows shared payment methods but takes way too long to set up for a one-time party. Naturally, the extension is the only real technical fix even if it feels kinda sketchy.
