I just got my first apartment and really need a cheap TV! I have $300 saved but prices are so high right now.

My logic was maybe wait for Prime Day or something? Or is it Black Friday? I'm so confused and have no idea how these sales work lol... when is it actually cheapest?

Agree with the TCL, but be careful. I once bought a Vizio on sale that was actually cheaper months prior. Definitely use this tool for price alerts to verify those price drops first.

I spent hours analyzing panel specs before last Prime Day, but unfortunately, the 4K Hisense I grabbed was a total letdown. Compared to the TCL 4-Series I tried later, the Hisense had decent contrast but the motion blur made gaming impossible. The TCL felt snappier tho the backlight uniformity was garbage. TL;DR: Budget sales are usually for panels with low nits and poor QC. Wait for November clearances instead.

Omg I have this exact same issue right now... been dealing with it for like three months trying to find a decent screen under 300 bucks and still nothing works. Honestly it is so disappointing because every time I think I found a deal it turns out to be a total dud or the price spikes right before I hit buy. I have been using this free extension to try and make sense of the price history but I am still totally lost and just as confused as you are. I really hope someone can actually clarify when to buy because I am so tired of staring at an empty wall in my new place lol.
