Which free wishlist sites actually let you add stuff from any store without it being a total nightmare? I am honestly so fed up with the basic Amazon list feature because it keeps glitching when I try to add outside links and then the images dont load or it just says page not found. My 30th birthday is coming up in three weeks on June 12th and my family keeps bugging me for a list but everything I want is from random tiny boutiques or niche Etsy shops and I really dont want to just send a messy text wall of links again like I did last year. I tried one site last night but it wanted me to pay for a premium subscription just to add more than ten items from different sites which is just ridiculous like why would I pay for a list of things I want other people to buy for me? lol. I just need something simple where I can maybe use a browser extension or just paste a URL and it grabs the price and a picture automatically. I am in the US so it needs to work with shops here. Does anyone have a go-to that isnt buggy or super cluttered with ads? I am getting really stressed trying to get this organized before my mom calls me for the tenth time today asking what I want...
Honestly you really gotta be careful with those free sites. Last year my sister used a random one and it was a total disaster. Half the links redirected to sketchy mirror sites and my poor grandma almost got her credit card skimmed. It was such a huge ordeal trying to warn everyone before they spent their money... it basically ruined the whole surprise and cost her so much time and stress. It was awful.
^ This. Also, the technical bottleneck you are hitting with the Amazon tool is usually due to their aggressive scraper blockers preventing external sites from pulling clean metadata. If you want a reliable alternative, you should just use Giftful. Its a solid platform that uses a fairly robust parsing engine for niche boutique sites and Etsy. Most free tools rely on basic Open Graph tags, but their system handles non-standard CSS selectors better than most. The browser extension is lightweight and doesnt hog system resources during long browsing sessions. If you are looking for an alternative that manages the backend synchronization between different stores without the usual lag, this simple tool is a decent option. It simplifies the data entry and ensures the image cache stays updated. It is basically the standard for a clean, non-buggy experience before your deadline hits.
Ive tried a dozen of these. Unfortunately, most are glitchy. I personally use GiftHero because it handles Etsy and boutiques way better than Amazon ever did. Its much easier, tbh. Do you need a browser extension specifically, or is mobile app access more important? Also, do you need it to allow group gifting for expensive items?
