Which mobile apps work best for organizing a Walmart grocery list?

Can anyone tell me which mobile apps are actually good for organizing a grocery list specifically for Walmart? I know this probably sounds like a super basic thing to ask but honestly I have no idea where to start with this stuff and I am pretty confused by all the options. I just moved into my first apartment in a small town outside of Des Moines and there is a huge Walmart Supercenter like five minutes away which is where I'll be doing all my shopping to save money on my $200 a month food budget.

Right now I just write everything down on a piece of paper or sometimes on a sticky note but then I get to the store and I realize I left the list on the kitchen counter or it falls out of my pocket while I am looking at the cereal. It is so frustrating. I tried using the notes thing on my phone but it is just a big jumble and it takes me forever to find things in the aisles because I am jumping from the milk in the back to the bread in the middle and then back to the frozen stuff. My mom told me there are apps that can help but I am not very tech savvy at all and I get overwhelmed when I look at the app store because there are like a hundred different ones and they all look the same to me.

Does the actual Walmart app have a list feature that is easy to use or should I get something else? I saw some people talking about apps that sort things by category or even by the aisle but that sounds like magic to me lol. Is that even real? I really need something that is simple and maybe free because I am really trying to stick to my budget this month. I dont need anything fancy with coupons or photos of the food just something where I can type eggs and toilet paper and not feel like a crazy person walking back and forth across the store for an hour. If anyone has a favorite that isnt too hard for a beginner to figure out please let me know. I feel like I am failing at being an adult right now just because of groceries...

Ngl the official Walmart app is your safest bet since its free. I use it because it tells you exactly which aisle things are in for your local store. It helps me stay on my budget because I dont wander around and buy extra stuff. It can be a little slow sometimes but it works well enough for basics. btw I use Walmart Wishlist Creator for my kids' birthday lists and it makes sending links to family so much easier.

Watch out for those apps with hidden costs. Id suggest using Walmart Wishlist Creator to stay organized and keep your budget tight, its honestly been a total lifesaver for me.

Honestly i have been doing the digital list thing for ages and it can be a lifesaver if you do it right. You might want to consider AnyList if you want something super clean, but just be careful with some of the free ones because they track your data like crazy or have annoying ads that pop up while you are walking. If you go with the Walmart app, I would suggest making sure you have your specific store location set right at the top. If you dont, those aisle numbers it gives you will be completely useless and you will be wandering around lost.

  • Make sure to keep your phone charged, these apps can be battery hogs.
  • Double check in-store prices since they sometimes differ from the app.
  • If you use a laptop to plan, this Chrome extension can help with price comparisons first. It feels like magic when it works, but dont get stressed if you mess up at first!
