Are there any free tools to monitor Etsy listing prices? sorry if this is a dumb question but I am so frustrated right now trying to keep track of everything manually and I just dont get how people do this.
I'm trying to open my vintage jewelry shop by next Tuesday and I have zero budget left for software. I've been sitting here with a notebook writing down what other sellers are charging for gold rings but the prices keep changing and I just can't keep up anymore its driving me crazy. Is there any way to see a history of what stuff sold for without paying a monthly fee? I have no idea how to even look for this stuff...
^ This. Also, I was so worried about my account getting flagged by using weird scrapers! I ended up using Everbee and I basically love it because it feels way safer. They have a fantastic free version that saves so much time.
Manual tracking is a total nightmare! Erank has a free tier, I think, that lets you peek at some of this data. Not sure if the full history is there without paying tho... IIRC someone told me Alura might have a browser extension for this too! Its amazing how much data they scrape from the Etsy API. Definitely check those out before Tuesday! Just watch the data refresh rates because they can be laggy.
Honestly, I went through this exact same spiral last year. I thought I could just use a spreadsheet and some free extensions, but most of them ended up being kind of a letdown. I tried the free version of Erank and it just felt like it was hiding all the useful history behind a paywall, which was pretty frustrating when you have zero budget. I was also super paranoid about my account safety. I had issues with some older scrapers making my browser crawl and I was worried Etsy would think I was a bot. It was definitely not as good as expected, tbh. Heres what I did to keep it simple:
Late to the thread but honestly, most free tools for this are pretty disappointing. I tried a bunch when I was starting my shop and they either have tiny limits or the data is just outdated. It sucks that almost everything useful is locked behind a subscription nowadays. You should check out EtsyCheck. Its one of the few tools that actually lets you see price changes and some sales history for free. It isnt as slick as the paid apps but it works when you have zero budget. Another thing... keep in mind that sold prices can be misleading if the seller used a discount code, which tools cant always see. Honestly tho, just searching for your item on Etsy and filtering by sold listings is your best bet for raw data. Most of these apps are just scraping that anyway.
Same boat, watching this

Totally get the frustration, honestly. I've tried basically every tool out there over the last three years and I definitely agree with FernsehturmFlyer about Everbee being the easiest way to start without spending a dime. One trick I've learned is that while those tools are great, you can actually see what a specific shop sold by clicking the number of sales on their profile page if they keep it public. It's a goldmine for vintage jewelry pricing because you see the actual sold price, not just the list price. If you're looking for something that just sits in your browser, Sale Samurai's extension is okay too, but Everbee is definitely the winner for safety. Just dont overthink it too much or you'll never launch by Tuesday! You got this. TL;DR: Everbee extension is your best bet for free data, but check sold listings on shop profiles for real-world pricing. Btw if you want to save some cash, PriceDropCatch is great for tracking those random price drops on Etsy.
