Are there any safe extensions for sharing multi-store carts?

I'm trying to organize this big supply run for my new office setup here in Austin and its honestly a headache. I've got stuff sitting in tabs for Amazon and Staples and some random tech site. My logic was that there has to be an extension to just bundle these into one link for my manager to pay but I'm getting stuck on the safety aspect. I looked into Share-A-Cart and another one called CartShare but some people on reddit were saying they might track your data or sell your browsing history which totally freaked me out. Plus I dont know if they even work with multi-store checkouts or just one site at a time. Is there anything actually secure for this or am I overthinking it...

TL;DR: I think Share-A-Cart is basically the gold standard for this even if the reddit threads get scary! I was just looking into this for my own small business setup! Honestly, im not 100% sure how the backend works, but someone told me that most of these tools only look at the item IDs and names, not your actual bank info or passwords. That made me feel tons better! I think you might have to send a separate link for each store tho, like one for Amazon and one for Staples. Still, it is so much better than copying and pasting 50 different links into an email! I love how fast it is. Its totally free too which is fantastic for saving cash. You got this, setting up an office in Austin sounds like such an amazing vibe!

Honestly, I'm in the exact same boat right now. I've been trying to coordinate a similar multi-vendor order for about a month and the privacy aspect is keeping me from pulling the trigger. I was looking into this cart sharing tool as a potential lead, but like you, I'm just not seeing enough clear info on the data security side to feel comfortable yet. It's really frustrating.

Stumbled upon this discussion today and honestly, my experience was pretty different from what others are saying. I tried those exact tools for a big office haul last year and they were unfortunately not as good as expected.

  • My main issue wasnt just the privacy stuff, but the actual reliability of the carts. Most of the time, the links broke if prices shifted even a tiny bit before my manager opened them.
  • I had issues with multi-store support too. Usually the Amazon items would show up but stuff from the smaller tech sites would just vanish into thin air during the transfer.
  • Honestly, these extensions seem to struggle whenever a website updates its code, which happens constantly. I ended up going back to basics. I just used a shared spreadsheet and tracked the items with PriceDropCatch to make sure we werent overpaying while waiting for the green light. It isnt as fancy as a one-click link but at least I knew the order was accurate.

Same headache happened to me when I was setting up my workspace last year. I was super paranoid about data too, but honestly, this cart sharing tool has worked well for me since then. My experience has been great with the privacy side and it really simplified the whole process...

  • my manager got one clean link
  • it combined my different shop tabs easily
  • dont have any data complaints tho
