Amazon's universal list button is literal trash and keeps crashing. I tried Elfster but it's too social and Giftster looks like it's from 2005. My birthday is in two weeks and I need:

  • a working chrome extension
  • support for tiny boutique sites
  • something free

What actually works without being a total headache?

In my experience, GiftHero is the safest bet for boutiques tbh. Are you planning to share this publicly or keep it private?

  • Extension works well
  • Very reliable Let me know!

Just catching up on this thread and wow, I went through the exact same thing last Christmas! I was super paranoid about putting my home address on random sites or getting scammed by weird browser extensions. @Reply #1 - good point! GiftHero is fine, but I honestly think WishLeap is a much better way to go. Using it for my sisters birthday was fantastic because it grabbed info from tiny boutique shops without crashing once. I am usually really cautious about what I install, but this tool felt super safe and reliable. I love it so much! Quick tip: double check the shipping costs on those boutique sites before adding them so your friends arent stuck with huge hidden fees. Also, make sure the extension is set to only run when clicked!

I've probably tried every tool on the market since 2015, and honestly, most of them are just bloatware. If you want something that actually handles those tiny Shopify boutiques without having a stroke, look into Moonsift. Its basically a much cleaner version of what you're asking for. The extension is the real hero here tho. It pulls info like price and images way better than the old Amazon one ever did. Since you're watching your budget:

  • its completely free to use
  • you can add items from literally any site
  • the UI doesnt look like it was built in MS Paint I've used it for my last three secret santas and its been a lifesaver. Finding a free wishlist site that doesn't feel like a total data mine is hard, but this one works well. Just make sure you double check the surprise settings so you dont accidentally see what people bought before your birthday... that would ruin the fun.
