the walmart app is literally driving me crazy lately because the list feature keeps glitching and hiding stuff i know i added or it just wont sync properly when im at the store. i am trying to keep our grocery bill under 180 a week for the family here in ohio and i cant afford to forget stuff or buy duplicates because of a buggy app. i am trying to decide between these two right now:
im leaning towards anylist because i heard the siri integration is better but bring looks a lot cleaner for quick shopping. does anyone know which one actually syncs faster between two phones or is there something else i should be looking at instead of this broken walmart app?
> does anyone know which one actually syncs faster between two phones To add to the point above: unfortunately most apps struggle with sub-second latency when youre on spotty 5G in the middle of a store. Walmarts backend is notorious for stale cache issues which is why your stuff keeps vanishing. I tried Bring! a while back but was pretty disappointed with how it handles item metadata compared to AnyList. It felt way too simplified for actual data tracking... kinda useless for strict budgeting. Before I give you a full technical breakdown tho... are you and whoever you shop with both on iOS? Syncing across different platforms usually adds a layer of complexity with how push notifications trigger the database refresh. Also, do you need specific unit price tracking features to stay under that 180 limit or just a basic checklist?
No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
AnyList is the winner here, hands down! The sync latency is basically non-existent compared to the Walmart mess. I love how it handles database updates across devices instantly.
Just caught up on the thread and honestly it is so frustrating when apps just wont do their one job. @Reply #1 - good point! AnyList is usually the safer bet for reliability but even then i have had issues with their cloud sync during peak hours. It is not as good as expected when the store wifi is spotty and you are trying to grab things fast. If you are trying to stay under a strict budget like 180 a week you really need something that doesnt fail or duplicate things. I usually use this browser extension to cross reference prices before i even head out. A couple of things i was wondering about your setup:
Solid advice 👍
I have been dealing with those exact same syncing glitches lately and it is honestly so stressful when you are trying to stick to a tight budget. It is a huge risk for your wallet when items just disappear while you are in the aisle. > the list feature keeps glitching and hiding stuff i know i added or it just wont sync properly I would suggest taking a more manual, DIY approach to your organization to ensure you dont overspend. Be careful with relying too much on the mobile interface during peak hours. Personally, I have found it much safer to use Walmart Wishlist Creator on a desktop to build out my core list before I head out. It is a lot more stable for the initial planning phase. Then, I would suggest taking a quick screenshot of your final list as a backup. I know it sounds a bit redundant, but you wont have to worry about the app failing you when the store wifi gets spotty.
Like someone mentioned, AnyList is the superior choice for reliability. Over the years I have tested almost every grocery manager on the market and most simply fail the sync test when it matters most. For a strict budget of 180, you need consistency that the Walmart app just isnt providing.
