Can I generate a link for my checkout items?

So I am currently trying to organize this big group gift for my sisters bridal shower which is coming up in about three weeks and I am honestly losing my mind a little bit. I am in charge of picking out all the kitchen stuff since I am the one living in Seattle near this specific boutique she loves and the other girls are scattered all over the country. I have spent like three hours today just clicking through their site and adding very specific items to the cart. There is about 15 things total in there right now and the total is hitting right around $485 which is perfect for our budget but I need to be sure everyone is on board with the selection before I commit.

The huge issue I am having is that I need to send this exact list to my three cousins so they can look it over and give the green light before I actually pay for it and then they Venmo me their shares. I really dont want to just take 15 different screenshots and send them in a massive group text because that is just messy and someone is gonna get confused or miss something or I will forget to capture the price on one of them.

I did some searching online to see if there was a simple way to do this and I found a few suggestions but nothing really fits what I am trying to do:

  • I saw people talking about Share-a-Cart browser extensions but they seem a little bit sketchy and I dont really want some random app tracking my shopping or having access to my data just to send one link.
  • I tried using the sites built-in wishlist feature but it doesnt save the quantities of the items I picked which is a dealbreaker since I need multiples of the plates and glassware and it keeps resetting them to one.

It is super frustrating because I have everything sitting right there in the checkout ready to go but I cant find a way to just share it. Is there any trick to just take my active checkout session and generate a single link that I can just email or text over to them so they can see exactly what is in the basket? Or is that just not how web browsers work for security reasons...

I have been doing group gifts for years and honestly this happens a lot. Not sure but I think stores block direct cart links for security reasons... IIRC it has to do with specific session IDs. You could try EasyCartShare maybe. I think it creates a shareable list without the browser extension mess. It is a decent option that worked for me once when things got messy.

To add to the point above, I have been in this exact spot and it is seriously the worst when the cart just disappears! I totally love using Easy Cart Share for my big group hauls. It is such a game changer! Quick question tho, do your cousins need to edit the quantities themselves or are they just giving a thumbs up on the total? Is the shop site on Shopify or something similar?

Saw this earlier and it reminded me of a disaster I had with a baby shower list. Carts usually expire because of session cookies, so your cousins wont see anything if you just copy the URL. I once lost a whole order trying to hack it. Make sure to:

  • Try a simple way to send your basket for a clean link
  • Check the site for a Registry option I would suggest being careful with free extensions tho, they often scrape your data for ads. Better safe than sorry...
