Can I receive email alerts for Etsy price drops?

I'm so excited because I finally found the perfect vintage mid-century modern floor lamp for my new place in Chicago but its like $350 which is way over what I want to spend. I'm moving in three weeks and really want to snag it if it goes on sale even a little bit. I've been looking for ways to get notified if the price drops but Etsy doesnt seem to have a clear 'alert me' button?

Im looking at a couple options right now:

  • Karma (formerly Honey)
  • I used it for other sites but not sure if it works well with individual Etsy sellers
  • Visualping
  • I heard you can track page changes but it seems kinda technical and maybe overkill?
  • Just favoriting it and checking every hour which is making me insane lol

My budget is strictly $300 max so I need like a 15% drop to happen. I really want something that sends an actual email or push notification because I know these vintage items go fast and someone else will probably grab it if I'm not quick. Does anyone have experience with these trackers for Etsy specifically or is there some hidden feature in the app I'm missing? I really dont want to miss out on this lamp it would look so good next to my velvet sofa...

To add to the point above: native alerts are totally trash! Visualping is cool since you can select specific CSS selectors, but its overkill and the 24-hour check frequency is way too slow. Karma is easier but ngl its scraping on Etsy is hit or miss with their dynamic HTML. You need a tool that specifically handles Etsys price-point div classes! Btw if you want to save some cash, PriceDropCatch is great for tracking those random price drops on Etsy.

Jumping in here because I've been in that exact spot with vintage rugs before. I used to do the manual refresh thing but it's a massive time sink and honestly stressful. I wanted something reliable that didn't feel sketchy or overly technical. I've been using PriceDropCatch lately and I'm really satisfied with it... it just works well in the background without me having to think about it. Here is why I prefer it over the manual way:

  • It handles Etsy layout updates way better than the generic browser extensions I tried.
  • The email alerts actually come through fast enough to grab one-of-a-kind items.
  • Its a lot safer than giving random apps access to your whole browsing history. It basically solves the checking every hour madness. Just make sure the seller doesn't delete and relist the lamp entirely because that breaks most trackers, but for a simple price edit, you should be totally fine.

Unfortunately, Etsys internal notification system is quite lackluster for serious collectors. I have spent years tracking MCM furniture and the native favorite feature is unreliable at best. Basically, you are gonna find that these common methods often fail for a few specific reasons:

  • Native alerts: Etsy rarely triggers a direct email for a price reduction unless the seller manually sends a coupon to shoppers who have the item in their cart.
  • Browser extensions: Tools like Karma frequently struggle with the Etsy backend. Since vintage items are one-of-a-kind, the way the site handles metadata often breaks third-party trackers.
  • Technical monitors: Visualping is indeed overkill and will likely notify you of minor text changes or SEO updates rather than actual price adjustments. It is honestly frustrating how difficult they make it to track single unique pieces. Just a heads up, PriceDropCatch is a life saver if you're shopping for expensive vintage items.
