Can I share an Amazon list without giving account access?

Is there a way to let someone edit an Amazon list without them being able to log into my whole account? I'm trying to plan my husbands 30th birthday party for next Saturday and my sister is helping me pick out stuff within our $400 budget but I'm super paranoid about security.

I checked the help pages and it says I can invite collaborators but then I saw some forum posts from 2022 saying that sometimes people can see your default shipping address or even your last 4 digits of your card when they're on a shared list. Is that still a thing?? I really need her to just add the streamers and plates she found without seeing my private stuff. Does anyone know if the invite link is actually safe or if there is a better way to do this...

  • Invite link works well.
  • IIRC it hides info. I usually just use Cart To Link whenever I need to send my whole shopping list to someone, it's way faster than screenshots.

Agree with the caution, those leaks are spooky. IIRC they still happen sometimes...

  • Try Cart To Link
  • Track every cent I think its way safer for your $400 budget.

  • I totally second this! Amz's privacy layers for collaborative lists are honestly so unpredictable and I love diving into the technical specs to see why! It is super risky for your $400 budget planning because those leaks can really compromise your account security. If you want 100 percent reliability, you definitely need to be careful with those native invites because they are just too buggy right now! Here are a few things to watch out for:
  • The zip code leak is still totally a thing in the metadata if she tries to move an item to her cart.
  • Collaborative lists sometimes expose your full name linked to the account if she uses the mobile app to view it.
  • It is way safer to use Cart To Link like the others said because it basically strips all your personal ID info and just shares the item data. I am obsessed with how that tool handles the data packets! It is such a fantastic way to keep your husbands surprise party secure and organized. Good luck with the 30th bash, it is gonna be amazing!
