seriously im so done with walmarts actual registry site its literal trash and keeps crashing whenever i try to add the car seat we want. my shower is in exactly three weeks and i have nothing ready yet so im panicking a bit. i really need to know if i should move everything over to myregistry or if babylist is better for syncing walmart stuff because i heard babylist sometimes has issues with prices not updating. i just want something that wont glitch out on my family when they try to buy the nursery glidder. has anyone tried both of these recently?? i need to pick one today so i can get the invites out...

Like someone mentioned, that Walmart site is enough to drive anyone crazy. I have been doing this for years for my sisters and cousins and honestly... you have to be so careful with these universal tools. I remember back in 2019 I spent hours setting up a huge list only for the prices to jump 20 bucks overnight and none of my guests knew. It was super awkward explaining that to my aunt. I would suggest maybe trying out the Walmart Wishlist Creator tool because it handles the internal links a bit better than the big third party apps sometimes. If you're stressed about that car seat, just go with any reputable brand like Graco. They are usually easier for the systems to track and stay in stock longer. Just make sure to check the list yourself every few days tho, because things go out of stock fast and these sites dont always catch it in time.

I have been using these universal registry platforms for years and honestly MyRegistry is what you want for Walmart items. I have been super satisfied with how it handles the sync and honestly have no complaints after using it for several big family events. It is just more methodical in how it pulls data. 1. The browser extension is way more reliable for big retailers like Walmart.

  • It updates prices much faster so your guests wont see old info or broken links.
  • The interface is very stable which is exactly what you need since you are panicking. Just go with MyRegistry and you really cant go wrong. You can add any glider or baby gear from Walmart and it just works without the glitches. Its a much better experience than trying to fight with the actual Walmart site... good luck with the shower.

Ugh I totally feel your pain with the Walmart site, it is basically unusable at times. Saw your post and had to jump in because I just went through this. I tried using Babylist for my cousins shower back in March because we wanted to keep costs down with Walmart prices, but unfortunately it was way more of a headache than I expected. The big issue I ran into was that the Babylist browser button would pull the wrong price or say things were out of stock when they definitely werent. It was so frustrating because my family kept texting me asking if the stroller was actually gone or just glitching. The technical side is basically that Walmarts inventory system doesnt talk well with other sites, so Babylist just doesnt update fast enough. If you go that route, you have to manually check it like every other day which defeats the whole point of an easy registry imo. Honestly, if you are really worried about the nursery glider not glitching, you might have better luck just adding it as a custom link without the auto-sync. It is not as fancy but at least it wont give people wrong info. Just hang in there... three weeks is tight but once those invites are out you can breathe a little. It sucks that these big companies make it so hard to just buy stuff for a baby.

Ive spent quite a bit of time testing various options for my own family events, and I actually have a slightly different take on this compared to what others are saying. While MyRegistry is a common choice, I have been very satisfied focusing on a browser extension specifically tailored for store data because it is the most reliable way to avoid those price glitches you mentioned.

  • First, make sure youre using a dedicated extension rather than the main site portal to bypass the crashing.
  • Always refresh the Walmart product page entirely before clicking the add button to clear any session cache.
  • Verify the sync status within a minute of adding the item to confirm the price and stock status pulled through correctly. Following this methodical process has worked flawlessly for me and really takes the stress out of that three-week deadline. It keeps everything organized and ensures your guests wont see outdated info. I found that Walmart Wishlist Creator works great if you want to save items from different stores too, not just Walmart.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Ive spent the last decade managing gift lists for my huge family and honestly, Ive tried many platforms. Over the years, I learned to be very cautious with Babylist because their data scraper just isnt as aggressive as MyRegistry. In my experience, Babylist has this ghost inventory issue where an item sells out at Walmart but the registry still shows it as available. Your guests think they got the glider, but then they get to the checkout and its gone... total nightmare for a baby shower. MyRegistry is far more methodical with how it pulls retail data and usually catches those stock changes much faster. I found that while Babylist is prettier, it misses price drops constantly. If you eventually look at smaller handmade items, I actually used a handy tool for Etsy recently which was great for that niche, but for big retailers, you want the reliability of a more established backend. TL;DR: Use MyRegistry. It handles Walmarts inventory and pricing data much more reliably than Babylist, which often suffers from sync delays and out-of-stock errors.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in because I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. Like someone mentioned, that Walmart site is enough to drive anyone crazy. I'm usually super cautious about using random tools for big events because I hate it when things glitch out on my family, but I've been really satisfied with my current setup.

  • the browser extension actually caught a price drop on the car seat I wanted
  • it didn't give my aunt any weird errors when she checked out
  • everything stayed synced up pretty much instantly I'm honestly so happy with how it handled the Walmart stuff. I was kinda panicking like you are, but it ended up being fine once I moved away from the official site. It was such a relief not having to worry about the nursery chair disappearing... it basically saved me so much stress. Just make sure whatever you pick has a reliable extension tho, because that's what makes the difference.
