How can I monitor Etsy price drops like camelcamelcamel does for Amazon?

Okay so I am really struggling here and getting super annoyed because I am trying to buy this specific vintage style brass mirror for my sisters wedding in about three weeks. It is on Etsy and I swear it was like 85 dollars last week but now it is up to 110? I only have about 90 bucks max for this gift since I am paying rent in Seattle and everything is just crazy expensive right now and I really cant go over that. I thought there would be a way to track it like that camelcamelcamel site for Amazon because that thing is so easy to use and you just see the little graph but I am totally lost.

I tried googling stuff like etsy price tracker and all these things came up talking about browser extensions and monitoring tools and honestly I have no idea where to even start with that stuff. I am so bad with tech it is kind of embarrassing so I was thinking maybe there was just a site where I could put the link in? My logic was that if Amazon has one then Etsy must too right but I am just clicking on stuff and getting more confused. Everything I find looks like it is for people who actually sell things on there or it asks for weird permissions I dont understand. Sorry if this is a really basic question but is there any way for someone who is tech-clueless to get an email alert when an item goes on sale? I keep checking the page every hour and it is driving me crazy...

Honestly, its super frustrating that Etsy doesnt have a built-in price history tool like Amazon. I spent hours looking for something reliable because I kept getting burned by shops raising prices right before a sale. Most of those browser extensions you found are honestly kind of sketchy anyway... they ask for way too much access to your browsing data and it makes me nervous. I tried a few and they just slowed down my computer or didnt even send the alerts on time which is pretty disappointing when you are on a tight deadline like a wedding. I eventually gave up on the extensions and started using a dedicated site instead because its just safer and more direct. I have been using PriceDropCatch for a while now and it is honestly the only way I have managed to snag deals on vintage stuff without constantly refreshing the page myself. It is much easier for someone who isnt tech-savvy because you just give them the link and your email then wait. A few things I learned the hard way about Etsy pricing:

  • Shops often raise prices when an item gets a lot of favorited clicks because they know people are watching it.
  • Sometimes adding it to your cart and leaving it there for a day triggers a discount code from the seller.
  • If the price stays high, you can always try messaging the seller directly to ask if they have any upcoming coupons since you have a strict 90 dollar budget. Its really not as simple as camelcamelcamel which is a shame but hopefully that site helps you out. Seattle rent is no joke so I totally get why you need to stick to that 90 bucks... good luck with the mirror.

Late to the party but I went through this exact thing with a mid-century lamp last year. I kept waiting for a price drop but the seller basically ended up delisting it and putting it back up at a higher price. Etsy is chaotic. Youre dealing with individuals, not warehouses. You really have to be careful because if you wait too long for a vintage item, someone else might just snag it. Technically, trackers struggle because Etsy sellers often change the listing ID or relist things to get a fresh boost in search results. Before I dig into specific tools, I need to know:

  • Is this a one-of-a-kind vintage item or does the shop have multiple?
  • Have you tried favoriting it to see if they send an automatic discount code? Tbh it makes a huge difference if the listing is unique versus a stock item.

I spent a while tracking some custom ceramics. Prices often shift based on the sellers material costs. I eventually used a simple tracking site that sends email alerts for price drops. My current setup is methodical. It works well. Its a decent option because it avoids messy browser extensions while keeping you updated automatically.

Regarding what #2 said about Etsy being chaotic... it really is a mess compared to Amazon. I have been digging for a solid tool for years and honestly, most options are pretty disappointing.

  • The native Etsy Favorites: Unfortunately, these only notify you if a seller runs an official sale event. If they just manually lower the price from 110 to 90, you wont get an alert at all. Its super unreliable for actual tracking.
  • VisualPing: I had issues with this one because its not as good as expected for beginners. You have to select the exact part of the page to monitor, and if Etsy moves a button or an ad pops up, it triggers a false alert. Plus, the free version is pretty limited.
  • Easy Cart Share: While this is great for keeping your links organized and sharing your finds across different devices so you dont lose that specific mirror, it still doesnt give you that beautiful price history graph we all want. Basically, the tech just isnt there yet because Etsy sellers treat their listings like individual garage sales. It sucks but you might just have to keep that tab open and refresh manually.

caught this earlier and wanted to weigh in... regarding what #2 said about etsy being chaotic... it really is the wild west compared to amazon. basically everyone here is saying the same thing: the tools are either sketchy or just dont work right because sellers do whatever they want. since youre on a super tight budget for your sisters wedding, you might want to consider if waiting is worth the risk of someone else snagging it. quick question though, is this like a one of a kind vintage piece or have you seen similar ones from other shops? also, have you tried just messaging the seller to see if theyd honor that 85 dollar price from last week since you saw it then? sometimes the diy approach of just asking works better than any tracker.
