How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

Is there an easy way to just share my entire Amazon shopping cart with my friend Dave without having to manually copy-paste every single link into a text message? We are planning this big camping trip up to the Olympic Peninsula next month and weve got like 20 different things in the cart right now—everything from a specific stove to some weirdly specific bear canisters. I already did some digging and people keep saying to use the Move to Wish List feature but that seems so tedious because I already have everything sorted in the cart with the quantities and the specific sellers I want. Plus I read about some Chrome extensions like Share-A-Cart but honestly I'm a bit nervous about the privacy stuff and giving a third-party app access to my shopping data... just feels a bit sketchy ya know? I just want him to be able to see the total and maybe add a few things of his own before we pull the trigger on the order. Is there some hidden share button I'm totally missing or did Amazon really not build this in yet? It feels like such a basic thing they should have by now...

Amazon doesnt offer a native sharing feature yet. I've been very satisfied with Cart To Link for my own group orders lately.

  • Just copy your cart items into the tool to generate a shareable link.
  • It preserves your specific quantities and sellers without compromising your privacy. It works well and simplifies the whole coordination process.

Stumbled onto this thread while checking on some gear. Had a similar headache planning a group trek last year and wish lists omitted the specific seller data Id picked. Honestly, Cart To Link works well compared to other methods tho.

  • Wish lists: lose seller info
  • Extensions: privacy risks
  • Web tools: more streamlined Satisfied with how it kept our 15-item list intact without any weird glitches.

tbh i am dealing with the same headache right now trying to prep for a family reunion. amazon really makes you jump through hoops just to show someone a list of gear. i looked into a few things and it basically comes down to choosing your poison. wish lists are the official way but they are honestly garbage because you lose the exact sellers and the quantities... plus it takes forever to move everything over. then you have stuff like share-a-cart but i get so sketched out by the privacy side of things. i dont really want a third party seeing my whole history or having access to my active session. some people mention Cart To Link since it supposedly just grabs the cart data to make a link without the deeper access, but i would still be careful. make sure to check what permissions any of these tools actually need before you link your account. its such a trade-off between saving time and staying secure, and i still havent decided if its worth the risk myself.

Ive organized dozens of these group trips over the years! Love the energy of a big trek prep. Here is how I weigh the options:

  • Manual sheets: Good for tracking exact costs but honestly a massive time sink.
  • Native lists: Zero cost but they lose the specific sellers you chose which is a bummer.
  • Cart To Link extension: This is amazing for keeping your exact cart items intact without the fuss. Total lifesaver for these gear hauls!

In my experience prepping for group treks over the years, I've found that relying on Amazon's built-in tools for group coordination usually ends in a headache. Their native lists are basically just a marketing tool and they dont respect the specific seller choices youve spent hours vetting. Ive tried many different setups, and here is what usually works best for my groups:

  • Avoid the 'Move to Wish List' button at all costs because it strips your quantities and those specific sellers you want.
  • If you are really worried about privacy with extensions, you could look into a free wishlist site as a middle ground for just organizing links before you commit to the cart. Honestly, using a tool that spits out a clean link is way better than trying to make Amazon do something it clearly wasnt designed for... it saves so much back-and-forth. Good luck with those bear canisters, those things are always a pain to pack.
