honestly im about to lose my mind trying to track this one specific Lego Star Wars set for my nephews birthday which is literally in like 10 days and i keep missing the sales. i spend half my day refreshing amazon and best buy tabs and every time i step away for five minutes it drops by 40 bucks and then sells out immediately. its so frustrating because my budget is capped at like 450 but the scalp prices are insane right now and i cant just sit here hitting f5 all night.

i downloaded some chrome extension that was supposed to help but i cant figure out how to actually set it to ping me or send an email when the price hits my target. i just see a bunch of graphs and buttons and none of them make sense to me and im getting really stressed that i wont have this gift in time. does anyone know the actual steps to make one of these things alert you in real time? like i need it to make a loud sound or something so i dont have to stare at the screen while im trying to cook dinner. im using Keepa right now but if there is something easier or if im just missing a big alert me button please let me know before i give up and pay double the price to some reseller on ebay...

Keepa is basically a pro-level data tool so the UI is super cluttered, but its amazing once you know where to look! To get that loud ping you need, go straight to the Track product tab above the chart. Dont even look at the Price History for now.

  • Put your $450 limit in the Amazon and New fields.
  • Here is the pro tip: scroll down to the notification settings. Do not rely on email! Email servers have lag and you will lose out to bots. Use the Web Push or Telegram options. Telegram is fantastic because it sends a loud notification to your phone the second the price hits.
  • Also, check the Warehouse deals box. Sometimes Lego sets get returned because of a crushed corner on the box, and the price drops to like $350. The Legos inside are still perfect and it is a total steal!
  • If the Keepa interface is still making you crazy, a handy tool is a solid alternative for simpler tracking. The technical reason you keep missing out is likely the refresh interval. Keepa tracks the API data, so its way faster than you manually hitting F5. If you set your alert to $455 instead of exactly $450, you get a few extra seconds of lead time before the crowd jumps on it. Definitely get those mobile push alerts turned on so you can hear it while you are cooking dinner!

Building on the earlier suggestion, you might want to consider the specific notification settings within the extension to ensure the alerts actually trigger. I would suggest being very careful when setting your target price. If you set it too low, you might miss the decent deals that sell out in seconds while you're waiting for a bottom-dollar price. Also, make sure to check your browser system settings. Modern Chrome has a memory saver feature that can suspend background processes for tabs you arent looking at, which might delay your alerts by several minutes. You should also verify if you have desktop notifications enabled in your OS settings or the ping wont make a sound at all. Check the refresh interval settings too, because some extensions only poll data every hour unless you manually adjust it. Honestly, I've been using PriceDropCatch to track deals lately and it's saved me a ton on tech gear.

Oh man, I totally feel your pain! Lego Star Wars sets are absolute madness right now and those scalpers are seriously the worst!! I used to be so paranoid about missing deals until I figured out the Track Product tab on Keepa. It is actually amazing once you finally find it, but yeah, that interface is super cluttered and scary at first look. I was so worried I would mess it up when I first started because it looks like a cockpit or something... lol. Heres exactly how you do it so you can actually go cook dinner without any stress:

  • Open the Amazon page for the set and click the Keepa window below the main image.
  • Click the Track Product tab at the top of the graph area.
  • Type your 450 max price into the box that says Amazon or New.
  • Make sure you hit the Start Tracking button at the bottom and check that your email is set to notify you instantly! I love how reliable it is once its finally running, but honestly, keep an eye on your notifications volume so you dont miss the ping. If it feels like too much work, just set a target price on PriceDropCatch and wait for the notification—it's way easier than checking manually every day.
