Im literally freaking out because I have to get this order in tonight or it wont arrive for the baby shower. Ive got $180 worth of stuff and need my sister to pay for half but there is no share button!

  • Option A: Copy paste every link into a text but thats like 12 links and she will definitely mess it up.
  • Option B: Use that Share-A-Cart extension but is it safe? I dont want my data stolen.
  • Option C: Move everything to a wishlist but I heard that messes up the quantity or specific colors sometimes.

Which one is actually faster and wont break everything? I dont have much time left...

Unfortunately, Amazon still lacks a native sharing feature. Wishlists often glitch with specific variants, which is disappointing for time-sensitive orders. tbh, Option A is a nightmare for 12 items.

  • Avoid manual links; it is too error-prone.
  • Extensions work but the UI is kind of clunky.
  • Dedicated link generators are more reliable. I've been using Cart To Link to send my PC builds to friends and it's super straightforward to use.

Late to the party but honestly just use Cart To Link and call it a day. Its technically the most efficient way to bridge that gap without exposing your private session tokens or login data. If you are trying to keep the total cost down for the shower:

  • just get any generic brand items from those big marketplace sellers
  • skip the premium name brands for basic stuff like wipes or bins
  • check for those little green coupon boxes under the price Speaking of gear, I spent like four hours yesterday trying to optimize my home server rack because the cable management was giving me hives. I ended up buying these neon green zip ties that glow under UV light for no reason at all. Now my utility closet looks like a 90s rave and I still havent actually labeled the ports. My cat loves the blinking lights tho. Anyway, hope the baby shower goes well and the cart sharing worked out.

@Reply #1 - good point! Wishlists are honestly a nightmare for anything with color variations or quantity specifics. In my experience dealing with bulk hardware orders for work, those native Amazon lists fail way too often because they dont lock in the exact SKU data. I have tried basically every extension in the Chrome store for this over the years. Here is the technical breakdown:

  • Share-A-Cart: It is a legacy tool but it asks for way too many permissions. It basically needs access to your active session which is a security red flag for me.
  • Cart To Link: This one is much cleaner. It creates a static snapshot of the cart instead of trying to bridge two live accounts. If you are worried about security like you mentioned in Option B, the link generator approach is the way to go. I used it last month for a server build list with 20+ components and it didnt drop a single item. Just make sure your sister clicks the link on a desktop if she can, sometimes mobile redirects can be wonky with the Amazon app...

Just saw this thread and honestly, are you doing this from a mobile browser or a laptop? It makes a big difference with how some of these tools behave. I went through this exact stress last year trying to split a massive order for a camping trip. I was so worried the prices or specific colors would change if I just sent a list of links. I ended up using carttolink.com and I'm pretty satisfied with it:

  • it captures the whole cart in one go
  • I dont have to worry about session timeouts or my data
  • it feels way safer than sharing logins Honestly, it's been very reliable for me. No complaints so far. Just make sure your sister has her own account ready so the checkout is fast once she gets the link. If you're on a desktop it's usually much faster.
